I'm trying to decide between an ATI or Nvidia graphics card. Would prefer ATI, but fancy going 3D (cheaper than a 3D tv)
Anyone know if the rumoured ATI 3D is going ahead and if it will be backwards compatible like the Nvidia system?
ATI's 3D solution depends on middleware supplied by the 3D glasses vendor and direct support in the application. It is not "automatic" like Nvidias.
The novelty of 3D glasses wears off fast. You're probably better off building a surround gaming rig instead. The cost and graphics card requirements are about the same, it won't cause eyestrain, and you won't have to look at the game through a pair of dark glasses for hours.
Here's a video of what FFXIV looks like on 3 monitors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49m5Eug37W0 Edited, Aug 24th 2010 5:55am by Lobivopis
