Okay so supposedly it's been confirmed on the Japanese beta site. Well it's 5:48PM EST and it still hasn't been posted on the North American Beta Site. My question is this:

Has anyone on this site who has access to the JAPANESE Beta Site(Pikko?) seen this on there themselves?

It is extremely easy for someone to doctor an image like the one shown of the beta site. It could very easily be a fake.

The official translation is up on ffxivcore.com.

Given the anger over how this is somehow all the fault of us "north american forums", I'm not sure if we'll receive an official word from SE regarding this. Tanaka seemed more upset that something bothered his Japanese market than that North America had a problem with one of their ideas.

How do we know where FFXIVCore originally saw the post? Or anyone? All I've seen is an IMAGE which isn't proof in my eyes since it's not posted anywhere on the NA Beta site, which I'm still looking all over now. That image is the only proof I see. That's why I was asking if any members in Japan have seen this post ON THE SITE, not just on an image.

They are worried the JP playerbase were upset about the surplus system so came out and told them all about it. Since they are angry with foreigners for spreading rumours(which turn out to be true anyway) they have neglected to mention anything else to us. On FFXI they stopped being like this a long time ago, on FFXIV it's in full effect. JP players >>>> everyone else.

They will probably translate it over in a few days but then again maybe not. I think they know secretly that most of us are kinda stupid and will buy the game regardless.

Solution: Don't buy FFXIV. I know I'm leaning that way.

Well the thing is (which blows my mind) if they are upset about mistranslations... then why would they further the problem by only posting on the JP beta site leaving us NA/EU's to TRANSLATE what is being posted yet again. I... I just don't understand this. If you don't want a mistranslation then translate your post yourself!

If they are troubled by mistranslation then I'd assume a professional company would have the presence of mind to hire an international marketing and public relations team. This seems step one to running a successful multinational corporation. SE is a bit too ethnocentric when it comes to handling their business. They seriously underestimate their mass market appeal and should embrace it as a benefit rather than the annoyance they seem to see it as.

I would believe it's real if the source was one of these:

-Tanaka's actual Twitter account(where he posted saying he was upset about rumors)
-An interview
-The NA Beta Test Site
-The Official FFXIV Site(even though I know this would probably never be the source lol)

Instead though, it's a supposed post on the Japanese Beta Test Site which cannot be confirmed by me as a NA Beta player.

If this is how the system is going to work I have no doubt it will be changed or removed. There is almost no good feedback, MAYBE 1 in every 20 people likes the idea, if that. The NA Beta Forums(which sadly I can't post on, but at least can view) are full of posts about this and how it is utter garbage. So unless SE completely ignores their playerbase about a non-essential extremely impactful game mechanic I think we're good.

And please no one post saying that they ignored the hardware mouse, UI lag, or some minimal problem like that that will most likely be fixed by Open Beta or release because those are incomparable to this.

Even if they have translators, the following process should likely be done;

1. Face to face talk with programmer
2. drafting out the translation, (assuming its working hour a few hr ago)
3. request management to sign and approve for offical statement.

Those all take time, its not tanaka on twitter or the chief producer writing on the jp beta site. At worst the translator have to wait till the producer come back from gamescon and have a confirmation, at best a phone conversation. The translator ain't going to take the post from JP beta site translate and post as offical statement without some bigshot management to cover his a$$.

Edit: I understand that SE might not even bother to translate the explaintion, we jus need to wait and see.
