There are more things to worry about than surplus and fatigue

You know you have a point here. Crashing every 20 minutes with depth of field on isn't much fun. . and the touchy directX thing forced me to ditch my graphics overclock. . which I'm not happy about either.

It occurs to me, is it possible that the whole purpose of the fatigue system is to cover up that they're not anywhere near as far along with the game as reason would suggest they should be? I mean, what if they haven't finished any of the 30+ areas yet? Sure, it [mostly] looks good (except for the empty white pixels that flash out at night from unfilled trees or whatnot) but it doesn't feel anywhere near as polished as a "nearly complete" work should.

I say "nearly complete", since they should be printing RTM discs at this point in prep for launch.

What're they REALLY hiding with fatigue????

Please, we all know they're just trying to hide their lack of completed content and that by the time the PS3 version comes out people won't even remember that Surplus EXP ever existed. Still irritates me that they'd rather spend time thinking of ways to keep us from getting levels fast enough to notice they haven't spent that time preparing anything for people but leveling and crafting.

I picked the last option, because the system will surely be tweaked a zillion times that the whole surplus xp drama will most likely become a non-issue down the road. Anybody who's been playing FFXI's since launch can attest to how much the system has evolved through the years.

I don't like it, but will still play, yadda yadda yadda.

It really doesn't change that much, and I'm sick of everyone blowing it up to gigantic proportions. It's ****ing stupid.

Mikhalia, you left out one option:

I like the idea of the system, but it needs tweaking and constant maintenance to make sure it doesn't do serious damage because we get better at the game later.

Nah. He didn't include that option because it would show that quite a few people are happy with a well-tweaked system that keeps the uber-nerds from dominating the game to an extent where people with less than 24 hours a day of playtime never have any chance to catch up to the end-game content. He didn't make this poll to get an accurate overview of general opinion. He made it to prove his point.

I'll humor you, mostly because I have no idea what the **** you're talking about... What point is this that I was trying to prove?

Mikhalia: and FWIW, my posts are 95% helpful, informative, or funny.
Mikhalia: only 5% or less of my posts are utter crap.
Tyapex: 393 posts of utter crap...
Mikhalia: Sounds about right.

No, people just enjoy taking out their vengeance on people for disagreeing.

I disagree with some things other people are saying, but I don't rate down people I disagree with, I rate down people who are being douchey, illegible, or just plain annoying.

I've rated up people I've disagreed with because they had good points, and rated down people I agreed with because they were being pricks. That's how the rating system is SUPPOSED to work. It's not a like/dislike button. @#%^ing Facebook

Same here.

My guess is the client we're playing on isn't the most current version, and that Open Beta will show us a bit more/
