can anyone explain this system?
is it like the BLU spell points from ffxi?
do you have to be that class to use that ability? (ex, being a gladiater with cure spells)
how meny do you get per level/rank in a class and do they stack overall? (all class ranks)
any other infomation that you can give out about it.

also side question, do controlers work for it like they did in FFXI on the pc?

It's similar to the BLU system.

You can equip any ability on any class as long as you have enough AP to equip them (though there are exceptions).
Not sure how many you get per rank.

Controllers do work.

Exactly like that

No, and I highly recommend both cure(CON4) and second wind (PUG6) -(a 3min cd big self heal) possibly bloodthirst from MAU 4/6 (i forget) however, note that bloodthirst (and most other things) are weaker when subbed.
Some abilities DO require specific jobs (like LANs surges) but for now it seems to be only the most class defining abilities are specific.

I put up some information on the fisher page and it's "abilities".

Actually, they're action points and instead of abilities, they're Battle Actions/Gathering & Synth Actions/Traits. toe-may-toe / toe-mah-toe I know

If you look at any of the abilities linked on the Fisher page in the wiki, you can see what the abilities description looks like. This is what it looks like when you equip your abilities:

And like someone has said already, you can use skills from other classes as long as your rank is high enough.

There are also accessory points. Although you can wear 2 earrings, a necklace and 4 rings you only have 12 accessory points and in B3 any accessories "cost" 3 accessory points. Meaning you could wear a maximum of 4 out of a possible 7.

PS: i think there where bracelets too, i would have to check my screenshots.

Just to add.

Don't forget than when you add an ability from one class to the class you are currently playing there are penalties such as longer casting times and less longevity etc.

Thought it was worth mentioning.

One example is that for my THM I wanted to use Stoneskin which is a CON ability (makes sense if you want to party buff or solo and you haven't got a nearby CON) - however there are a few things that are different when I cast Stoneskin as a THM compared to when I cast as a CON. These are:

1. The casting takes approximately double the amount of time that it does for a CON.
2. The AoE range of the cast is either drastically reduced (or maybe even conical - not fully tested this but I think the former is true)
3. The amount of DMG the spell absorbs is reduced.

I used Protect and Shell for my THM as well (got CON up to 16 just for these actions) - With protect in particular I noticed that when cast on myself it almost instantly started to flash (meaning that it was wearing). Now this may have just been a Beta Test thing but I doubt it.

Conjurer is a good first class to play because you get cure/stoneskin/shockspikes really early on - and those abilities are pretty useful on other classes.

Once you get stoneskin I would suggest moving on over to PUG and play that to level 6 to get second wind - because CON has no use for TP until they get their Weapon Skill at level 10. Second wind is a lifesaver and it is quicker to use than cure. It does have a pretty big CD though. The other thing you might consider is doing a couple levels on THM - BloodRite is something like level two and it boosts the attack power of your spells, which is really useful.
