The announcement about character balance states:

"It is worth noting, however, that the reduced rate will also gradually recover while players are engaged in activities that do not yield skill/experience points. In this manner, it is possible for the threshold value to reset completely, even before the completion of the one-week timer."

Do you think that counts having your character be idle? Like leaving your character online while you go to work or sleep or something? That wouldn't be so bad.

I would not be surprised if letting your character sit in a town on a different job will slowly reset your surplus over night. Looking at how half ***'d this whole thing is implemented i am sure players will find a way around it or even completely break it.

Come on, they store the experience and you can even Rank up on surplus but they NEVER thought about what to do with these points. Do they think we are that stupid?

This must have been used for something else before they decided to use it to royally ***** up the leveling system.

So, what is there that does not yield skill/experience points? Yay, i can just sit in town all night and it resets. This system is even more retarded than i thought.

The way it seemed to work in Beta this might be possible if SE makes some changes to the coding. As of my experience i got to the 10% surplus mark and changed jobs shortly there after. Came back the following day and got full experience for like 2-3 kills and it was back to the 10% surplus mark. So depends on how SE ends up doing it i suppose.

EDIT: HAVE TO SAY IT. SURPLUS IS RETARDED.

I wonder if being logged out would achieve this effect as well?
Logic would suggest it would. . but I can't help but question SE's logic right now.

And actually if SE can implement at least this much into the game, where surplus will diminish at a decent rate and then reset weekly it might be playable where i wont complain to much.

But with that being said, i still think it is complete rubbish for a company to limit your play time in anyway with a P2P model.
