Difficulties of heal/buff-ing group members? Still the case?Follow

For those that are in beta, there was discussion in the past that healing and buffing isn't an easy task. The AoE cast can be tricky. Those that are always on a constant move can provide healers tough time to support time. So is it still the case?

What I've learned from the forums is it is best to heal members by typing out commands, others set macros. I come from other MMORPG games where I just click on char and heal, the plain easy way. :/

In Beta it was very difficult to heal party members.

You had to scroll through players using tab (as in Beta there is no Party member selecter) then you had to select spell(Cure or Sacrifice) which would bring up a purple targeting recticle over the player, then press enter which would then bring up a green icon above your spell list GUI, then move the mouse over the green icon to de-select the green arrows at the side of the green icon, then press enter - all to send a single target Cure to a player. In the end I gave up on this and spammed physical attacks with my THM Siluoette move which reduces emnity and then used AoE cures regardless - just hoped that I survived the battle (which often I would not). As the macro's aren't fully available yet it was not possible to set them for <t>, <stpc> etc and the F keys are only set to scroll through party members atm.

I made a macro. One for cure, one for sacrifice. Both <st>.

And I use a Controller, so it was Right trigger, select with D pad between 1 or 2, hit 1, hit a.

Pretty simple.

The instant death that ensued from the cure-aga and agro, was not fun though.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.
