Might want to toss out the graphics card and get a new one. Other than that it should be fine.

I think an 8500GT can only run Super Mario Brothers at this point.

I actually had the same card in my last computer. I was able to run the benchmark on low, but it was incredibly laggy. I think I scored the same, around 400 or so. That card will not be capable of running FFXIV. A definite upgrade to your video card is needed to run FFXIV.

It never really had a prime.

did none of you guys read the post?

Sure, that card's old, but it should not be getting a score of four hundred and twenty.

Unless he had, like, a voodoo3, he should not be getting a score that low.

Obviously the card is dated and should be upgraded if you really want to enjoy the game, but by no means should it be getting a score of 420. My friend's years-old integrated-mobility-video-card laptop gets almost 2,000.

Your graphics card is getting surplus XP. You should switch it.

If your friend has windows 7 there is part of your answer. Also, his proc is only running at 2.2Ghz, if he upped that to 3.0 he might be able to get 2,000.

Thanks for the quick info, my only other question is are either of those cards going to blow the power supply?, my friend said they might . this comp is just getting me through until ps release so I don't wanna go crazy and blow a ton of money I'm happy with low settings as low as it runs smooth
