Regional Realm List - US Midwest = LINDBLUMFollow

I'm organizing the Midwest crowd, anyone in GMT -5 or -6 to choose the Kefka server. Hopefully we can get a lot of people from this timezone and language on this server. Other regions please post your timezone and preferred server.

Remember, if you participate in the open beta, you can take your name (and name only) to launch.

Thanks, and hope to play with you all soon!

**** EDIT: Please go to LINDBLUM since Kefka is not available in Open Beta ****

Sad thing is is that I want to play on Golbez (if the servers keep these names), but in XI I ended up on a server that was mostly JP populated and I had a hard time. I will probably be forced to go Kefka since I assume that is where most of the NA are going to go (that and Sephiroth). I wish I knew where most of the West Coast NA are going.

Help him out! If anyone knows of a large collection West Coast group, say show here, otherwise lets get a proposed server. If you are proposing servers, please take the time to research as I have to make sure no other region has already out-right claimed it.

I don't know about a large group but I'm from the west coast I'll be going to Kefka...and probably dragging 3 of my friends with me. Frankly, I refuse to go to Sephiroth and play with every Cloud & Sephiroth fanboy under the sun and Sephiroth was a whiny little B!@#$ compared to Kefka.

Heh, yea I was on the Kefka server, not because of Rocs Lock, but when I ran into him I always wondered if I might end up in one of his videos...

I'm hoping the pre-FFVII servers will be populated with older gamers closer to my age. But if the midwest is going to Kefka that's cool too. I live in the Chicago suburbs and I'm a big FFVI fan (I made a popular expert version using the great FFVI rom editors). I look forward to seeing you guys on the Kefka server. Perhaps the popularity of this server will get SE thinking about remaking FFVI for a modern console instead of FFVII. Ha! FFVI is a masterpiece, no doubt about it.

The point of worldwide servers is that there is activity 24/7 and you can meet people form other regions. Why you want to localize a server to a specific US timezone has me baffled.

I guess it's just so they're sure to find people to play with since they're in the same time zone? Now that you can choose server, some form of localization will be unavoidable.

This is what i'm thinking as well, besides its not like this thread is going to cause the "entire" midwest to play on kefka, and **** for that matter not everyone on zam from the midwest will play on it as well. Just a small percentage that have gotten to know each other a bit on here can actually start off somewhere together.

I'm from the Midwest, but I'm not interested in a GMT-5/6 server. I have friends and former FFXI LS mates on both the east & west coast.

<Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.>

US Midwest can't claim Kefka, it has already been claimed by the Baltic states.

Only server left that has not been claimed is Sephiroth - you can have that one.

Just a reminder to midwest folk that we are starting on the Kefka server tomorrow. This includes the Zam/FF14Core/Eorzepedia crowds. Please spread the word to other forums. Thanks.

Another Kansas player here. I was surprised to see all of the other KS players on here. I have a character on Kefka already (I believe). If not, I'll roll another on Kefka this Tues.

People have expressed concerns that the server name "Kefka" might not make the final cut. If that is the case for any reason, I will update this thread with our destination server. Please check back!

Anyone picked out a server for East Coast players? One of the old school FF villains?

Edit: this post was advocating a move to Figaro - many people in the IRC have chosen Figaro instead.

Lindblum has been nominated and seconded below

This would actually work out great for me in the likely event that the RP server is Lindblum as well.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.
