I have had an account with ZAM (Allakazham) for years now. i love the community. I love the knowledge everyone has to offer.

I just had to say this. I've been browsing other major ffxiv forums (dont want to name names) off and on to get as much info about ffxiv as possible. And I can not for the life of me find a community that is well versed or as knowledgeable as everyone here. By knowledgeable I don't mean only about ffxiv. I mean how you express yourselves, your respect for others, as well as respect for each others differences.

In these other forums I've been on people just do not make sense. I see someone post a topic, and all the reply posts are about something completely different, and it goes on as such. Its irritating in the least.

Even the trolls are better on ZAM.

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned ZAM is where all the hardcore Final Fantasy fans are and will always be.

Ode to you all.

I prefer posting here because of the lovely option for parchment background.
I like the layout better. Doesn't seem to be as many whiny posters here, although maybe it just seems that way because I'm biased.
I also oddly like not everyone having stupid avatars too. Even though I'd like to have the option of having my own avatar as a non-premium member, I do get tired of the crap that some people come up with for avatars on other forums.

I don't have a ton of recent experience with other sites, but when I first started playing MMORPG's years ago, this was the place to be. Good resources, helpful folks, and plenty of diversions when game-related talk was slow.

ZAM accounts for about 75% of my internet related activity. I bet you can guess what the other 25% is.

...Fantasy football. Why, what did you think I was going to say?

Picking Tom Brady still a good choice? I have a draft next tuesday =p

Also, I joined here when I joined FFXI in 2004, so I always came here for info on everything from guides, to recipes, to strategies... etc

So I guess it just kind of became my home =)

I would go for Brees, Manning, Rivers, or Rodgers before Brady. Sleeper - Bradford

I only joined my friends for fantasy football this year because they're still so interested in it. I think I finally got worn out with football, or maybe I can't stand how espn and the networks totally ruin it with constant commercials. The other day one called me and started saying things like "Can't wait for football season" and all I could say was "I can't wait for september 22nd"

That's one thing I can look forward to in FFXIV, I can escape some of that nonsense. You'll never log into XI and see "Mog House, built by Home Depot" or "Aetheryte is brought to you by Samsung" in XIV.

I think Brady's a savvy choice, since I think you can typically get him a little bit later than the others. He looked great on that deep connection to Moss in the preseason game against the Rams. He should pretty much be back to full strength, the only question is how much the O-line will suffer if they lose Logan Mankins, I guess. I think he's good for your second pick if you go RB or WR first, but only if better QB's have already gone off the board (i.e. QB's are going fast in your draft). Try to pair him with Moss or Welker.

My QB draft order:

1) Aaron Rodgers
2) Drew Brees
3) Peyton Manning
4) Tony Romo
5) Matt Schaub
6) Tom Brady
7) Philip Rivers

The closest I saw to that on Shadowlord was a Miqo'te named Potato Chips.

When I played FFXI, there was someone's Galka mule just outside Selbina name Snackshack. His bazaar message was something about great food at reasonable prices.

In most leagues RB are going to score the majority of your points. Obviously the studs, Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson are going to go quick so if you are in the middle or end of the first round look at RBs like Ray Rice, Ryan Grant, Micheal Turner, Ryan Mathews, Steven Jackson etc. Anyway, I would pick the best RB or QB available when your pick comes up.

On topic:

ZAM is actually the best FFXI/XIV forum I have seen. Other forums are full of angry, epeen stroking jerks. People here get into heated discussions that sometimes get snippy, but they usually squash it or work it. Other forums, you say something they don't agree with and they respond with comments about your mother and her career as a ***** o.O

I love the 'Zam forums as well. Don't post anywhere else, and post here more than I expected. (I'm by nature a lurker)

Very often I want to jump in a heated debate and point at stuff.. after the post is written I'll just click "back" and return to my lurking...

lol, any see the irony in the fact that this post is being derailed by fantasy football discussion?

Don't get me wrong though, I have a draft tomorrow night and appreciate the tips ;)
