speaking of classes..
are Conjurer & Thaumaturge the only DoM classes rolling out on retail? I remember reading something about speculation of an Illusionist or something as well..

Only ones unrolling out at retail as far as we know but it was mentioned in an interview that they are working on at least 1 more DoM class for an early patch. We won't be waiting for expansions for new jobs is what I have read.

Suggested classes have been Mystic and Arcanist. There is already an Arcanist's guild in Limsa.

I'm ignorant so I don't get the joke.

I'm slightly shocked with the results in a way, it was a lot more balanced than I thought in the combat classes. I didn't expect lancer to be the least popular either, I was predicting Maruder for bottom, Conjurer for top. Interesting though

Pug here. If Pugs can be an efficient tank then I'm set.

I too am surprised that most of the classes are pretty equal. Hrmm...

I would've guessed Pugilist would easily be the highest...don't shortchange marauder though...pretty badass and it's always fun to wield a great axe...

Honestly none of the classes are really appealing to me. I'll probably try Archer and level a craft or something until they release more jobs, preferably a pet job that uses whips :D

I agree that none of the jobs really appealed to me right off the bat. I played BLM main on FFXI and I am kinda of burnt out on the mage end of things. I was kinda of hoping for a THF type of class so I will probably try and play PUG as much as possible because that's the closest there is to it.. I really think I am going to do a lot of crafting at the start, probably goldsmithing.

I was the same way. I like stealthy understated evasion type classes, and Pug was ultimately my choice.

Right on. That's going to be my first craft too - which I never expected to happen but after playing it in the last round of beta I was sold.

So from your experiences from leveling a Goldsmith, did you have to level up another crafting job or two in order to maintain your Goldsmith advancements?

I only got to Rank 11 Goldsmithing, but I didn't *need* another DoH. I picked up Mining to help gather crystals and materials, but that's it.
