Hey - I think we need a place to post random crap that doesn't belong elsewhere. Things like the name of your cat and your favourite video on youtube. Endlessly dissecting the game only lets us get to know each other so much.

This is the mix I just made (and am listening to right now). I am procrastinating from doing housework:

Well... I'm bored of this PC I just bought for FFXIV... so I'm considering getting up and turning on Battlefield or Dragon Age: Origins. I can't believe I STILL haven't beaten that.

Oh and since this is a random thread.... i really wanna know WTF is wrong with this keyboard they sent me! The delete key is ONE button space, not two. So I'm constantly hitting the "\" instead! Who designed this crap!?

probably the same company that sold the keyboard I bought for FFXI when my old one died. All the vowel keys were sticky.

I just bought a keyboard at a garage sale for 5 bucks which is ten times better than the brand new one I bought for like 30 bucks brand new.

I just came back from a barbecue where interesting points included suck up the invading wasps with a vacuum cleaner (industrial handheld one) and saw up tree branches... we know how to have a good time!
Also found a gaping hole in the side of my shed today.

ooooh nice. FFXIV should run smoother than a baby's **** with an i7.

Congrats on getting your build done. What does bad weather look like to you. Here is is of moderate temperature and sunny with cloudy periods. I am in favour of this weather yet it doesn't entice me to leave the house.

What do you keep in your shed? do you have any idea how you got a hole in it? What is it made of? Can you fix it yourself? Is it even worth fixing?

I have never attempted a war with wasps using a vacuum cleaner weapon. Who started the skirmish?

Whenever a new pokemon generation comes out I play the **** out of it to the exclusion of everything else. Then I hit a point where I'm pretty much min/maxing and I just quit for years.

In other news my team at work just rearranged our office. We have so much more room for activities now.

Also, tonight my kids, my wife, and I will be going to the moonlight parade in Silvis, IL. It's a parade at night, with cool lights on all the floats and fireworks afterwards.

One more thing. I'm pretty sure that my wife is going to completely snap if I don't get the kitchen swept and moppped in the next five to ten minutes.

My wife got her first pair of glasses today. Sure, she only needs em' for reading, but I still feel vindicated that her eyesight is starting to slip [I've been VERY nearsighted my entire life]

The thing that kills me is, while I've always been attracted to her, every time she puts the glasses on, I absolutely *CANNOT* Take my eyes off her. It amazes me how simple little changes can have such drastic effects.

If you'll excuse me, I think I'll go gaze at her some more until she throws me out in irritation ;)

I'm just um... Playing FFXII, waiting for my boyfriend to get off work so we can go to the gym... It's hot/sunny where I am also. Spent about 40 minutes lying out in the sun earlier in a desperate attempt to get some color before the boyfriend and I go on our cruise at the beginning of October. It's going to take some dedication, as I'm basically Whitey McWhitebread 99% of the time. I haven't had a tan since I was a little kid. :\ Mostly because I'm paranoid about skin damage. Bah.

I just finished "Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood. It is a creepy apocalyptic science fiction novel complete with genetic modification gone wrong (and right) - internet ****, MMOs and worldwide chaos. Highly recommended.

Here is the full first chapter: http://www.oryxandcrake.co.uk/excerpt.asp

Wow, Parasite Eve. That brings back memories. I beat the first but never finished the second one.

I just started learning the game Go. I try to play a bit on line, but I just plain stink.
Tried to find a board and stones at a store in my area. Nobody had any. Bummer!
Kind of wary about ordering from from websites I am unfamiliar with. But there are some really nice ones for good prices.

On another note why does my PC slow down to a crawl when I visit FFXIV forums, but not when I visit FFXI forums? Very odd.

After spending a ton of time here recently, I've noticed certain ads bog my pc down more than others...one of those City of Heroes ads in particular. I dunno how that works, but it's **** annoying...I kept thinking conspiracy theory on the subject and figured it was meant to coerce me into going premium = P

Along with feeling left out of the cool avatar club...

I just got done sweeping and mopping the kitchen. As it turns out I had to do the bathroom and the foyer too. I never really thought of it as a foyer myself... more of an entryway, or a landing as we have a split level.

Please let me know if you discover a method. The only thing that seems to work here is if I don't eat or drink anything other than water in my house for at least 3 days.

I have no method for killing them, but I know it gets worse when your coworkers hide a banana peel in your desk while you're on vacation. If this happens, do not throw the banana peel away when you find it. It's preferable to do an even better job hiding it in their desk.

Me, I'm just a bum who sits on his behind most of the day.
I share an office with a couple of supervisors at work.
I print labels, design some of them, proof read nutritional information and go through daily production reports.

My former manager told a story to me at a christmas party about how his roomates had hidden a bucket of clams underneath his bed and would laugh at him when he would ask "what's that smell?"

This is my coworkers all the way. I was a very productive kind of employee when I first started, but after a while you have to go with the flow. Now it's oatmeal in the coffee, fruit in the desk, and Styrofoam mannequins in the chairs all day long.

Big can of bathroom spray, Lysol is the most effective.

Wait till they land, then drown them to PIECES!

You may end up using most of the can, so make sure you have a gas mask. Hi-Q gas mask if you're using lysol.
