Hiya.
I work on the underground in London and we have our own system on the PC's called the intranet.
It restricts a lot of sites we can access.
If I try to look at Zam, I get the message....denied access 'games'
I can get on to the official SE FFXIV site and also the Civfanatics forum for the Civilization games.
Can anyone suggest a way of accessing Zam that won't get caught in the filter?

I know every work system is different, but hopefully someone will have found a sneaky way in to theirs, or be able to suggest a work around.

Cheers.

Set up a VPN to your home computer to use it's internet connection. Peacefire.org has great directions on how to do it, just make sure you set your router to only allow access during the times you plan to access the site.

Now, that portable firefox certainly interests me. I have a work PC which doesn't allow for free proxy sites or browsing anything even remotely interesting. I will have to try out that program to see if I can get anything. Thanks for the info.

I have Firefox portable and it doesn't get you around proxy servers or website blockers. All it does is give you a portable version of Firefox like it says.

I admire your dedication for trying to access ZAM but just be careful. Sometimes trying to access sites your company deems inappropriate or finding ways around the filter could cost you your job.

The theme of this thread would've been perfect for that old "You know you think about FFXIV too much when...." thread

Lol at twisted.
Geffe.......yeah, that worries me. There are people at work that get round other sites by finding another way in legitimately though. Maybe by finding part of the site that doesn't flag up, then linking to the bits you want.
That's what I'm looking for.

I'm lucky enough to have a job I can't really get fired from. The military tends to punish in different ways. I get caught doing something I'm not supposed to be, I get charged significant amounts of money followed by outright torturous physical training at the hands of a vicious dictator! not to mention getting to work on the weekends checking passes and guard duty. Getting fired seems like a better solution.
