When you start out as a Disciple of Land or as Disciple of Hand, do you also get your job's secondary tool? So if I create a Fisherman, would I also get a weathered gig? Or if I create a Weaver, would I also get a weathered spinning wheel?

Not sure, but you don't have to worry. They're cheap as **** to buy.

I don't believe so. When I started my Fisher, I got a Weathered Fishing Rod and 99 bloodworms. I had to buy the bronze gig separately at the Fisherman's Guild. Most of the secondary weapons are Bronze [Something]; I think Weaver and Goldsmith are the two exceptions, namely Maple Spinning Wheel and Mudstone Grinding Wheel, respectively.

As a botanist, I only had the weathered hatchet as my primary weapon from the outset.
I had to buy the sickle (off-hand) from the Miqo'te NPC in hawker's alley.

Hmm, to add on to this...did you guys that started with a DoH/DoL do the "My Very 1st Adventure" leve and the part with escorting the lalafell lady to the lighthouse as that class? How'd that work out?

Does MyVery1stAdventure become a fishing leve if you're a fisher?, etc. And how does protecting the lalafell work when you can only throw rocks? Is it like the opening sequence where you get bailed out by the roegadyn?

Yes, it does.

That I don't know. I changed to Lancer by then.

At least as a miner, I started with the pick axe and got the sledgehammer as a reward from my first leve.

Do the DoL classes have any sort of root or bind? That would be perfect to learn to navigate through high level mobs. Any input on this?

They do get an ability that makes the next rock they throw stun the mob but I haven't used it so am unsure of the duration of the stun.
