All Out Assault
History

AoA is a multi-game guild that has been a success since 1996. MMOs AoA has been active in include Earth and Beyond, Star Wars Galaxies, WoW, DDO, Tabula Rasa, LOTRO, POTBS, AOC, WAR, Aion, Star Trek Online and APB. AoA is keeping a close eye on Star Wars: The Old Republic, where AoA already has fairly large division ready to roll. AoA is also starting up a Final Fantasy XIV division. We are active in a broad range of other games including shooters, RTS, and consoles. When you join AoA, you are not only joining a great guild in a particular game, you are joining a large community of gamers that will stay with each other over many games. That sense of community and longevity is what makes AoA special, and we seek like minded players that want to be part of that kind of gaming community. We consider ourselves to be casual in that the bulk of the players have busy lives, but we also respect each others game time by doing our best when we are in game. Casual-Hardcore!

FFXIV Division

AoA is seeking mature individuals that respect their fellow guild mates and players. We recognize that as adults, we have lives, jobs, families and outside interests. We don’t make demands on how you play, what you play, or when you play. Our real requirement is that everyone has fun, is helpful to their fellow guildies, is active to the extent their schedules permit, is active as part of the AoA community, and that everyone contributes to the FFXIV division’s goals and objectives as best they can. We encourage members to take on responsibility in the division, helping to organize and lead events. Being a multi-game guild, we also recognize that there are a lot of great games – and we hope that you will enjoy playing them with other AoAers.

The division was launched during beta2 but due to a lack of testers at that stage and the fact that the game didn’t have linkshells enabled we didn’t seek new players. With beta3 this began to change and it’s now a great time to join us as the game heads into Open Beta. So if you are like-minded, looking for a group that is driven by a belief that games are meant to be fun, interested in joining a community of gamers, and want to be active in everything (or just a part of) what FFXIV has to offer we would love to talk to you!

Recruitment Guidelines

(1) We are looking for players 18+
(2) We hope you will want to join our Ventrilo server when grouped. During any difficult content we will insist on this, it just makes sense. Just being able to listen in is fine.
(3) If you join AoA the expectation is that your time in FFXI will be spent with AoA. We understand that other Linkshells may fulfill other needs, but we hope you will want to be a part of our wider community and look on AoA as your primary social linkshell.

To apply. Go on over to http://www.alloutassault.net register and put an application in the Join FFXIV forum.

Open Beta Server TBA on Tuesday!

Nice to see a recruitment thread from someone who has more than 3 posts. However:

This will probably work against you, as PS3 players will probably not have access to Vent.

I notice most recruitment posts like this that lack FFXI experience require voice chat. Takes skill to be able to run endgame with only a keyboard!

My experience with these types of guilds is that the players just hop from game to game to game to game... with brief stops in each.
I didn't see any mention of FFXI as a game you all enjoyed.
For someone interested in purely joining a FFXIV community, and not one that hops from game to game, not sure this would be their best option.

Lol PS3 players won't have access to FFXIV for a while either.

In all the LSs I was in for FFXI that said you need to be on ventrilo to keep people organized, it always ended up being a bunch of people talking about stuff that had nothing to do with the game, even during bigger events. I found FFXI created players who were mostly competent and knew what they had to do. Hopefully FFXIV will do the same.

Whatever happened to recruiting people you like when you meet them in game?

This sounds like I'd be trying to join a biker gang.

Thanks for the constructive comments guys. PS3 is a long way off actually as someone said. I would say about 75-80% of our members were recruited in game. I was recruited playing a game called Renegade a team based FPS offshoot of the Command and Conquer franchise, way back in 2002. If someone just wants a group for FFXIV and nothing else we probably aren't your best-fit. We are a quite large and diverse gaming family. I stayed and have played many games in the time I have been a member. Not always with the exact same crowd, but the greatest recommendation I can give is that we are mature, don't do drama and there are always guys I know (perhaps just through our forums) to look to for help and encouragement. Whatever I am playing.

So true we aren't just a FFXIV guild or LinkShell. A strength or a weakness. It depends on your perspective.

Some members played FFXI. I played for over 2 years. There are relatively few current members looking at FFXIV, however all those that are going to play have played for some time and are enthusiastic about FFXIV. I have only had access since beta2 but I think I understand the key mechanics of the game in it's current incarnation at the end of beta3, as well as anyone. Open beta is a chance for us to build on this background and to make a solid start in the game. We aren't 40+ hour a week race to endgame players. Personally I intend to level slowly and enjoy the journey. That's not to say that I or any of us will be entirely casual in our approach. All I can promise is that we are friendly and helpful and this is the kind of person we are looking to recruit.

Why not come and help shape our FFXIV division?

I wonder how do you enforce that?

Sounds like a nice guild. I like the "casual-hardcore!" Too bad I don't play other online games...but good luck. :)

Because I have an FFXIV LS of my own, as shown in my sig. Regardless, good luck with yours.

This

And a big no to anyone wanting me to fill out an application to join their club...
Even bigger no if said club is already working on "schedules"

Awesome sig - don't let the not playing other online games put you off. Many or most of us play one online game at a time. It is when the content and fun that can be had in that game falls off that we have the situation of knowing other people and getting recommendations about what is around. Unlike that suggested by one person above somewhere we don't all move on from one game to the next. We still have a presence in games such as LotRO and Warhammer after several years for example, although no one still plays SWG these days.

As the poster immediately above this highlights...
Obviously the message is that the fit needs to be right between Linkshell (guild or whatever) and it's players. I am glad that this thread is helping some of you to decide. I'll pass the kind comments on the site back to our guys who set up the site the way it is now.. They will love to hear them. Thanks again.
