Question about Fatigue systemFollow

I get the whole 8 hours 100% xp, then over next 7 it vanishes down to 0. Does the timer only count down while active in combat? So say it takes 2 min per battle, then I go inactive and run around in the same gear so same job. Does that give me 7 hours 58 min left to xp on that job? Just trying to understand what goes into the timer and what doesnt. Thanks all Beta testers who can answer this one. :) See-ya on Tuesday :)

It's not actually a timed system. Essentially, SE has decided that a player should be able to get a certain amount of exp per hour. They call this exp limit a threshold. After 8 thresholds, the exp begins to dwindle down, until eventually reaching 0 exp 7 additional thresholds later.

For example, say that SE has decided that a person can get 1000 exp within one hour. Each 1000 exp you earn, you will pass a threshold. After 8000 exp is earned, you will have passed the first 8 thresholds. Each exp after 8000 will gradually go down. So at 9000 exp (or 1000 after 8 thresholds), you will gain less experience. At 10000 exp (or 2000 after 8 thresholds), the value will go down less. This will decrease until it reaches the minimum exp gained at 15000 exp gained (or 7000 exp after 8 thresholds).

You know what would be cool? If we had 10 of these threads on the first page so people wouldn't have to make new ones.

Oh wait...

I didn't want to, but I will.

There are like... well many, many... many threads about this topic, you could just have searched for them on the first page, but since you seem incapable of even that (I mean in the remote case that this isn't a terrible trolling attempt), check this for official information form the developers, also this, this or this for player feedback, questions/answers and fat load of ranting about surplus and at last but not least this for the closer thing available to a real test, with pictures and timings.

Have fun =)

I see it as hindering the casual gamer more then the hardcore gamer. A casual gamer may play more on the week ends then during the week. I would be ****** if I couldn't level my Character for how ever long i wanted to. Your almost forced to level everyday to meet the exp quota or you'll be left behind. THEIRS ALSO THE EQUIPMENT DETERIORATION. **** if i'm not getting anything why would i want to spend gil and items to repair my stuff? I would still help, I was just using the above as what may happend.
Theirs a lot of stuff that comes into play if you can't get exp.

I just wonder how long you have to wait to get that class back to 100% exp again. It seems their's will be a difference in RANK and CLASS exp earnerd to your cap. but it seems if you cap your CLASS exp you can change your class and the starts at 100% again but the Rank class does not. I'm just really curious how the numbers will pan out how much exp, how long you need to REST before your at 100% exp again.
