Virus in New Client?Follow

I downloaded the update via the FFXIV beta. I was in the closed beta, and the whole thing did the client update fine. Took a while to download, but I got it all. I did NOT use the torrent method, only the Square Enix downloader.

When it got to the install point, it got up to 99.9% installed and it errored out. Windows Defender popped up saying it had encountered a virus.

file:C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\data\8C\D3\00\2D.DAT.tmp2

In that file, it says that it found the DOS/SSR.gen virus.

Now, I know you're supposed to disable anti-virus when you install this, but I want to make sure I'm not being paranoid. I am in no way accusing SE of putting a virus in their stuff, I just want to know if anyone else has seen this, or if I should be safe to turn anti virus off and reinstall the beta client.

Thoughts?

Also, I reported it in our feedback forum to the developers.

Awesome, thanks Wint. So I should be good then.

Feel free to lock this post or whatever.

I get an error at 99% as well.
Glad I'm not the only one.

Just to update, I just unchecked the "real-time protection", ran the installer, and all is well. Turned back on protection afterward. Hope this is helpful to anyone else having the problem.

I got the same thing, and Wint already mentioned he posted this in the feedback forum. I added it on BASF in case any of our shellmates get into the open beta.
