looks like any one can download the installer. they opened it up a day early so everyone can play when it hits open beta.

I have donwloaded the installer but when I try to run it, it closes down and windows looks for solution. Any one else having this problem?

Do you have UAC turned off (or down to minimum)? Antivirus stopped? One of the files in the download was flagged as a virus by my AV, although I don't think you've made it that far yet.

hmm that does not seem to be the problem. I downloaded the 117 mb fine but when I try to run it I get to choose language (have tried them all) and then the application freezes and shots down and windows tries to find a solution. Very strange... This is my work computer... I will try it for real when I get home and see what happens.

Either they aren't allowing the update to run just yet or they are so slammed that nobody can get though. Either way the update is just timing out right now.

I'm updating right now going 1-2 mb/sec (in Japan though). Sometimes I think they just don't plan for.... you know.. the world.. >.>

Same here, getting the "not valid win32 application" message. I'm on 64bit of course, assuming you are too?
