Thank you so much! I loved Fishing in FFXI and I've been very curious about how the new system worked. I like how involved it is this time around. I'll feel like I've really "earned" my catch this time. Thanks for the information.

Congratulations for the article and thanks for the guide!!

Seems to be very handy (as a non-beta I can't really apply the knowledge).

Excellent guide! Thank you Wint.

Fishing seems a tad more complicated than mining and logging though...can't wait to try out some of the tips!

...And for some reason I couldn't help but lol at the fish...it just looks funny to me.

I saw this in a little box on the front page and read it last night. Very simular to other gathering classes. Well done.

Great article.

Am i the only one thinking they are overcomplicating all the most simple tasks in order to "try" to falter the RMT? Fishing mining gathering in general is just becoming so tedious and time consuming. I understand why but god it's really not encouraging in any way. I don't like a guessing game to be any part of my game, luck should not enter the equation for basic needs(bonuses are fine).

That fishing guide in FFXI would have been 1 paragraph :S. Get a rod, drop a line, go left and right against the rod... congrats a fish. With special detail mentioned for the sweat drops and stuff that give away things.

Whew... i have done minimal mining in game but that fishing guide scares me, i wanted to do that stuff a lot too.

You're being intimidated by nothing. It's easy and relaxing, easier than XI I think. Reeling in a Ryugu Titan in XI can cause you to break a sweat. Here it's no problem, once you know the rules.

I don't think it's to try and beat RMT, though that may be a side benefit. The simplified system was fine for FFXI, but in FFXIV they're supposed to be fully realized separate classes. If that's going to happen then the method has to be more involved. That being said, they're really not as hard or complicated as they look once you really get into them.
