Open Beta Question for other pre-B3 testers...Follow

So I realize people have asked this, but I'm just not getting any definitive answers from the various threads and I apologize profusely for my thick-headedness in not understanding.

However, here's my question - do previous Beta testers get codes for the Open Beta or do we have to re-apply? I just registered my time zone etc. today (site wouldn't even let me in for the past couple days to do it) and under services it shows that I am not currently registered for the Beta Test (which is fine, given that it hasn't started yet)... but in service history, it shows that I was NEVER registered for the Beta, even though I was accepted in late Alpha. Does this mean I need to wait for an email from SE with my code when they start sending them out or do I have to apply for a code like everyone else?

It was said in another thread somewhere that Beta testers got a specific email from SE stating how to register, but the only thing I've received with that information is the same email many people have posted in other threads already.

Thanks for any clarification and sorry again for creating a duplicate thread.

Quoted from the email they sent me. Leads me to believe everyone has to apply for a new registration code regardless if you were in the previous Beta phases. I would log in and find out, but I keep getting timed-out errors every time I try, when I get in I'll let you know.

Previous email instructed CB testers to register their keys last week to ensure you got into the OB.

That makes no sense. My closed beta key was already registered, under the select services and review services it shows FFXIV Beta Test. And when I logged in to download the new client update, I got in fine and at the end of downloading it just told me, Maintenance, unable to log in.

So why would they send me an email saying I needed a new registration code if the one I have is still good? I even tried re-entering it just now and it gave me an error saying that code is already registered to my account.

I think only those who were given keys at around Aug. 20 need to register to get new keys for Open Beta. For people who were in Beta before the key or ticket give away, there's never any key or number required to access close Beta.

However, it's really confusing for people who were in Alpha or prior to Beta Phase 2 and with the Open Beta suspension, Do I need to apply for new code like everyone else or will there be code in Email from SE automatically???

SE FFXIV customer support site seems to be open and I checked their F&Q database, they only provide answer to people "NOT" in closed Beta but lacking information to those who "WERE" in before and can't access now. Anyhow, I sent Customer Support an email and hope they answer <<cross fingers>>

I was part of the Pre-P3 invites. Just tried to log into the Beta Test site, said my account was not registered. Went to register the FFXIV service on the SE Account Management site, and after entering in my name/address/etc, they asked for a FFXIV Registration Key.

Looks like everyone needs one of these **** keys now.

Because the rest of the email stated that previous keys were going to be revoked.

EXACTLY what happened to me.

I only got in on B3, but I'm still kinda disgruntled en masse that they would treat their alpha/B1 testers like that. "Here's a reward for all your help.. NOTHING"!

Hrm... Windexy, I never received an email from SE asking me to register for an OB key and as stated previously, I got into late Alpha test. When I was accepted into closed Beta, I wasn't required at the time to register a key. I was just given instructions to log into the test site and download the client. I still have all the emails sent to me from the Beta test team and none tell me to get an OB key or does any of them contain a key. This "select service" stuff looks new - but I never had to deal with the SE Account page before this, it was always the Beta site.

Sigh... I wish once, just once, SE would learn to deal with their NA audience clearly... I wonder if there's the same confusion for Japanese Beta players...

Apparently that only applied to P3 beta testers who received keys. Sorry for the confusion.

It sounds like everyone just needs to re-register at this point.
