Here is your official thread to complain about the downloader, the open beta delay, or surplus exp.

I figured since the last 3 pages of threads are only about one of these three things, you can have one thread to get it all off your chest.

No need to thank me, enjoy your thread.

OooooO! I wanna complain about how SE is rewarding their existing beta testers by. . . Making them stand in line like everybody else to get an open beta key!

And I don't care what SE is calling it. It's fatigue, not "surplus" Surplus is having extra left over that can be used for something else. Actually, the current system is more like "waste" [your extra XP gets pitched in the toilet and flushed]

And let's not forget everyone's FAVORITE. . .

"I'm NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TODAY"!

Also, please look up what the word "official" means. Its not some arbitrary descriptor you slap in a title to make something look like less of a pointless idea :)

I love waiting in long lines.
I love when i get fatigued, i go rest.
I love when things are delayed.
I love long walks on short peers.
and most of all i love when my internet is down.
But really I love love love slow client down loads.

See it all depends how you spin it, no complaining here all love

Alright, I'll make use of this. I could really do without being ****** around constantly and ending up more confused. The giveaway keys were delayed for so long we didn't even get a week before phase 3 ended. There's an official message urging people to register those keys immediately before they become useless so that way you can get a new key needed for open beta in your email. Then we get this new email telling us to apply for the OB tonight. Was this a general email sent to any SE account that's more geared towards those never in the beta previously and we should still be expecting an email with a new key? or does this new email override that old message? Saying we should apply as new testers. On top of all that the OB gets delayed. And while we all mean well, these various threads on the subject don't help too much because everyone answers according to their particular situation. So it's gotten to the point that even official messages from Zam admins are questioned and read with skepticism because everything is contradicting something else. I need a beer...

You know what is awesome? When you put out $2,000 for a new gaming PC, and all of the parts arrive the day before open beta starts so you have just enough time to assemble it and get everything working, only to find that one of the two 4GB RAM sticks is DOA, and that since you got a dual channel kit rather than two separate sticks of RAM, you now have to RMA the whole set leaving your shiny new PC with no memory in it for about a week while you wait for the whole shipping process to be completed. It sure would be nice if they would let me keep the working stick so that I could just run on 4GB of RAM while I wait for the bad stick to be replaced, but of course it doesn't work that way...

At least there is a bright side to this, SE delayed the open beta just for me so that I wouldn't miss anything while I waited for my new RAM!

So, on friday, I totally rearend this grandma as she stops abruptly in front of me. I have liability coverage on my 10 yr old paid off car, so I'm shafted. There is a scratch on her minivan and my car looks like it got punched in the mouth. Going to pay $2400 for body work and to paint the whole car, getting Maaco'd... and I'm nervous as ****. Apparently she's going through her own insurance, which was very nice of her. I hope my insurance doesn't go up (they're not paying her and they're not paying me), but it probably will anyway. This is my first accident, I'm 29.

On Sunday my nosy neighbor comes over and goes well I can probably fix that for you. I'm like how do you even know I had an accident unless you literally walked over onto my property and looked it, I just think that, I don't say it. So I'm like how much? And he's all I dunno, let me find out for you... I'm like do you take credit cards? And he's all uhh..... So I say, will you paint it? He goes no.

Monday at 6pm after he notices my car isn't there he rushes over asked me if it's in the shop, I say yes, he goes how much, I tell him, he gets ROYALLY ****** off and says I could have fixed it for you for $500. This was literally my first impression of him since we had no previous interraction. What a douche. I bet he would have pulled a bunch of used crap from the junkyard and threw it on my car, which would have made my painting bill go up big time.

---

So I'm at the gym monday night, one of the ladies who works at the gym in the day care is there working out, but not working on the clock. I have kids that go there. I'm wailing on my delts and I hear her loudtalking to some "bro" about how she hates the "brats" in the gym and that "sometimes I just wanna slap the kids and tell them to get out". WTF, this girl watches my kids! I tell the manager, he IMMEIDATELY calls her into the office after telling me "I'll wait til you leave to talk to her about it, chief". lmao wth

It's been a rough couple of days, I don't even have a car atm. XIV's faults don't hold a candle to this crap.

If your insurance company catches wind of it, or if the police were involved and you got ticketed, your insurance will go up.

Ins company knows about it, but they're not paying out. Police weren't involved. Hopefully they see it as a minor 'fender bender' that I took care of my own, but this is pretty much their excuse to milk my pocket, so I'm nervous.

This really depends on your insurance company. Some companies will let you slide on your first minor accident if you have a clean record up until that point. What you really need to worry about is if the old woman decides to go through your insurance company instead or hers, which she is entitled to do...and honestly for liability reasons you should have gotten a police report. I don't know what state you are in but in CA you are pretty much guilty if you rear end someone but if you have a police report you have a better chance of defending yourself if you get pulled into some BS lawsuit later. As it stands now it's her word against yours if she "develops" a neck or back injury. I don't mean to freak you out but so many people don't realize how badly they can open themselves up to be f!@#$d.

Whereas here in WA, Accident = ticket 100% of the time. But yeah, you never know when someone will turn around and claim whiplash or some crap like that.

In that situation he may have gotten a ticket for tailgating. And if it does get back to his insurance company the first question they'll ask is if there's a police report. I was an insurance agent for 2 years and you wouldn't believe some of the utter crap people get paid out on because there's no one to say that what happened didn't happen, which is why I brought up the police report...or at least witnesses with no vested interest.

Don't let it stress you too much. You have liability insurance and hopefully your bodily injury limits are decent. CA has gotten much better about frivoulous law suits so that helps. I didn't mean to ruin your day man Smiley: frown

In a reverse situation, when I was about 17-18 I got in a wreck on the way to a friend's house. Old dude in a beatup truck rear-ended me. Some dope runs outside of his nearby house and starts asking me if my neck hurts & if not I should say it does, etc. so I can sue. Some people are pretty twisted...

Be lucky you aren't in Virginia. Here, its illegal to rear end anyone for any reason. Meaning, if you hit whoever is in front of you, its automatically your fault regardless of the circumstances. Mandatory ticket, 8 hour driving school if you're lucky. I've been burned by this, and I've had someone who rear ended me burned by this (wasn't either of our faults, 3rd party was doing something stupid).

in spirit of the original post:

I hate anti-snow posting :P Snow is awesome.
Too many slow beta download posts
Not enough surplus threads
Newegg didn't ship my order fast enough
I can't remember all the DoH class names
my textbooks were too expensive
New race names are too hard to spell

in response to hater of my anti-snow post. try living in canada your entire life. Up here in the north we have to climb mountains of snow just to get to class... barefeet in our boxers. And you cant just climb straight up or snowgulls fly into your face, you have to go backwards.... its quite difficult.

Heh, I'm from Toronto, we never had snow long enough for it to be that big of a problem. I'll give it to you, northern canada sounds awful.

I went to Red Robin sunday night had chicken strips and fries, got a refill on the fries, made sure to use as much ranch and flavored salt as I could, ate some of my wifes fries, and had some mozarella sticks, went to bed like 30 min later. I had this dream about a serial killer that was killing people in the hotel I was staying at, the details of which I can't remember, but it was freaking scary.
