Mine is... Singapore.

Not found anywhere. (>...<

Heck even East Timor is include and some countries with less then 1 million people.

Almost the entire list of ASEAN countries not on the list. Well, maybe Brunei, which is group under Middle East instead. I guess those genius that created the region selection page thinks every Muslim country are Middle Eastern.

Look at the zone, highlighted in green. The countries in there are not in the region selection.

There might be some truth in your words!!!

What regional copy of FFXI did you use? Did you have any problems with billing or using Singapore address or Credit Card?

I think your best bet is to contact them through email or online support. I'm sure you can't be the only one having this problem so they might have a solution for you already. I'm just worried that you might not be able to use your copy of FFXI after you verify your region. :(

Some of us over here in the Tiny Red Dot, also worried about Region/IP lock :(

As fat as FFXI goes we used to play with fake NA address :(...

Hey I'm from the Philippines, and I noticed that the Greater Southeast Asian countries (Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia) plus Hongkong and South Korea are not included on any list...

Does SE not recognize any of us or something, is that the reason why not one of our country is included on the list?

Living in Singapore here too. Ah, memories of having to randomly coming up with fake details for a US address... and then being asked what that address was as identity verification when I tried to call SE for support. >.>"

Tried to send them an inquiry regarding this already, hopefully I can get an answer out of them before beta starts ><

Edit: Interestingly, China is not on the list either.

I'm in Thailand. Still waiting for SE to put it on the list and/or give an explanation. Knowing SE, the latter ain't gonna happen.

I am also from Singapore and quite disappointed when i dont see Singapore in the list, when i call for support they said "choose whatever close to you, or that you are not official for the game."

I was thinking, should i choose Singapore under Great Britain since it was founded by Great Britain, if i wanted to be under NA region, or should i choose brunei since people in singapore do use brunei currency as singapore currency without need for currency exchange. It seems to have insufficient choice even if asia is to be release at a later date, any choice we do now, may result in permenant ban in our account for wrong information provided.

I have been playing FF11 since launch, and got region lock at mid stage(credit card information cannot be change too). So if my credit card expire.....i think i will lost my FF11 account.

I dont see why SE would link so many asia countries to china if they are to deal with RMT, i never went to china even once in my life.

I just clicked on the contact customer support on their site and filled in the form asking what we should do if we're not listed. Here's to hoping they will reply soon.

I believe that the key fact that would doom you in the future is choosing the wrong region, not choosing the wrong nation.

It is bizarre and sad though that they managed to not include virtually all of their asian neigbors on the list, and misidentified Brunei as a middle eastern nation. I thought it was us Americans who are supposed to fail at geography. How embarrassing if an American company decided that Costa Rica was an African nation. :P

For China I understand, since Chinese law prohibit showing of undead and stuff.

For South Korea, Maybe because they hated each other.

For the rest of Asia.... No idea...

For now, I guess the rest of Asia have to wait. :(

For playing the open beta, I guess Fake NA address time. :D

For what I use so many For (-_-lll

Not sure if you have an NA account, but maybe this is what's going on? I got this via email yesterday:

Quote:
Dear members,

We are shifting to new internal systems and services that require all of our customers to properly identify their current residence in order to access our new products and services.

One consequence of this is that members residing outside of the supported territory (United States and Canada) will not be able to access their existing North America SQUARE ENIX MEMBERS accounts, including MEMBERS Points, after August 31, 2010, 2 a.m. PDT. New accounts may be available in your proper territory. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If for RMT concerns, i suggest that still let us select our country.

I say so because, i think it is easier to monitor RMT activities if allow to choose country, than to let RMT/possible RMT randomly choose a country hidding among all the rest.

We did nothing wrong, and nothing to be afraid by choosing our own country, but......we are not given the choice.

Well...

The grand problem for some of us is.

Our country is not even in the region select. :(

Its like we are not part of SE's plan for us to play FFXIV.
