Has there been an interview or anything found through data mining about sneak or invisible buffs? I somewhat remember an interview from a long time ago mentioning sneak and invisible but I haven't heard anything about it in a long time. From looking at the new list of abilities, doesn't look like its gotten through spells so all thats left is Alchemists O.o

Seems like certain classes can evade the attack of a specified type of enemies:

If you're looking for an actual sneak, deodorize, invisible/tonko spell; I have no idea. :/

I would hope they are in the game, as it was cool to run through high level areas, and panic when your sneak would run out. :)

I'm not entirely sure but most mobs will completely ignore you if you run behind them (avoiding eyesight) the only mobs I've seen that don't follow this rule are the fallen lancers/captains/etc who will ignore you if you walk behind them very slowly but if you pick up too much speed they turn their heads and draw their weapons (still can escape if you leave). It may just be coincidence but whenever I walk behind one of those gigantic scary looking toads it automatically turns around and kills me.

yeah same Kierk, that was one thing I was hoping would be in FFXIV. It was always intense running through dangerous areas with those buffs on. One wrong move and your dead =D. I hope it comes in some form this game. I'm hoping alchemists will be able to craft items that give the effects =(

Please, no sneak and invisible! I like that SE has added shared rewards from guildleve. With sneak and invisible in the picture, quests that don't directly involve a fight just become trivial.

If there are quests like that, perhaps they are just there to introduce you to the aggro system and how to avoid it?

There were some parts in FFXI where you couldn't avoid aggro and it would be disastrous if there weren't any avoidance spells.

But this isn't FFXI and things like aggro seem to be a little different. Not really a deal breaker, just liked to see those spells for nostalgic purposes.

Too much time in FFXI was spent using invis and sneak for my taste, it was too effective and made almost all the mobs useless unless you were in an exp party. Since it doesn't take 20 minutes and a full 6 man group to bring down a single mob in the game this time, maybe we can do without sneak and invis too.

I dunno, I would have thought there would have been something since they are trying to encourage casual and solo play. It's hard to imagine getting around alone in higher areas without something O.o
