There was a poster here yesterday who was having trouble launching ffxiv with windows 7 x64. Their solution was to copy one of the directx 32-bit dlls into the same directory as the updater but I can't recall which file it was and cannot use the forums search (rant for another day) could someone who can search see if you could find that post?

I've looked through the first handful of pages but couldn't find it.

Thanks in advanced.

If you go to the Microsoft Download Center and download the update for DirectX then that should solve your problems. The most recent thing on there (DirectX End-User Runtime, the top one) should be what you need, but if that doesn't work then you should try the one below it (DirectX Redist (June 2010)). As for what .DLL it is you are talking about, I don't know. I had an issue with the benchmark that required me to add 2 .DLLs to the directory it was in, but I don't recall what they were, and even after adding the .DLLs my problem wasn't fixed until I downloaded the updated mentioned above.
