Well I managed to finally get all squared away and logged into the OB server. It looks like all the vendor purchased job weapons, field tools and crafting weapons cost a lot more now. They range in price from 696gil - 1200ish gil. I think the goldsmith tools might be a little more. Even the cost of bait went up a few gil. So if you were intersted in fishing, you'll need to spend 696gil for a weathered fishing poll, 950ish gil for a bronze gig if you like to spearfish, and 3 gill per lugworm.

And I'm sure things like EXP to level has gone up as well. OR EXP per mob has decreased.

I'm sure this beta will be much more like retail.

Just before I logged for the evening, I decided to nab a leve. Of course the client was behaving just fine until I got the leve. I ran 100 yards out of the camp and the client crashed. Got back on and found that the active leve has been marked as failed. I wish they could have fixed that.

Wow...

Well, unless gil earned changes decently as well, it looks like we'll be staying as our starting job for longer. Choose wisely!

I think they boosted the rewards for leves. The very first "My First Adventure" leve gives you 1000 gil reward. I also managed to find a treasure chest on the way to the mobs which yielded 20ish gill.

"The prices for items sold by NPCs at each shop have been changed.
Due to this change, the amount of gil players acquire has been increased."

From Patch notes for open beta.

The patch notes for the beta did say that while prices were going up, the amount of gil players were capable of earning is going up to compensate.

Edit: Beaten to the punch!

They fixed it according to their update: now you can re-take failed leves by renewing them in town i believe.

sweetness, that was one of my big complaints for closed beta

Making starting weapons costly is a bad move. Sigh, SE. Aside from the obvious unwelcome gameplay restrictions, it just encourages people to farm new accounts for the gear.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

They are really not that costly. I made 2.5k gil in about 30 mins from duoing guild leves.

Ah, well that's fair enough then. Though if they upped the gil reward for leves, that bodes for potential economic ramifications. I guess they have plenty of time to stabilize the economy later, though.
