That's right.
They are all different now.
Though from the amount of stats you amass, I highly doubt they will make much of a difference.
Amazing stuff! All towns are open weee.

Supposedly the stats are also dependent upon which clan you choose as well. If guardian has any affect on it, IDK at this point.

Good, they should be.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

I would say it won't make a big difference, but you can't choose how to distribute HPs and MPs. So that might make an actual difference. Also while the stat differences don't appear to have a lot of difference, what would concern me is the diminishing returns aspect. As you level it will take more points to increase a single stat by 1 point. So at some point because of diminishing returns, having that little 4-6 point difference might come in handy. Just depends on how SE has this set up though.

I am surprised also. I made a Galka (I'll never get used to the new race names) assuming it'd be the top melee fighter. Good to know I can human again.

What i'm wondering about...
the fire/water/etc stands for resistance, right? and to be honest... i don't think it's that important (at least compared to str/dex/vit/int/etc.)

All races have 180 points in total, but only this much in the (for me at least) important stats:

74 Midlander
78 Highlander
74 Forester
77 Shader
74 Plainsfolk
70 Dunesfolk
75 Sunseeker
73 Moonseeker
76 Seewolf
77 Lohengarde

8 points difference? that's more than 1 level. or am i wrong and it's not about resistance?

Edit: argh... i just noticed the fcked up formation made me miss Piety.... weeelll every race has 90 points in the basic stats... my bad.
