That page gave me an error and sent me back to the SE account page, where I got up to the submit key page, but still haven't been able to actually get a key.

No it doesn't work. It worked for him. Obviously he just got in during the tiny window that SE was allowing people in. Not anymore

His link works if you copy paste the whole thing into your browser, but of course the applications are still down.

I tried to add the ffxiv service from the link and it wanted my info. I typed the info and it had the boxes to enter the beta key if I had one. So for fun I put in the one from beta 3 that I had registered and it said that this beta key is already registered.

Which makes me think that somehow SE has kept track and maybe there is some truth to keeping we previous beta players from entering in an attempt to indeed let new players in first by signing up.

My question remains the same as others that were in beta previously which is...

When will SE let us in? Or why doesn't SE at least show our beta service canceled?

The only reason I am not too upset right now is that I am still at work and cannot play even if I did have a key.

I get off in about 6 hours then it will be a different story.

Now showing canceled....... so at least now I can give up on them sending an email or key refreshed from previous beta.

Now just gotta play the waiting game yet again to get in hopefully I can in the next 8 days that I have off.

Ddaydday's link worked for me as well, first try. It immediately sent me through and I've received my e-mail with beta code.

Thanks for sharing it!

Pikko, I made another account and managed to score a second key. Was gonna give it to my roomie who's been wanting to play but if you want it I'll send it via PM to you. He probably wouldn't use it much anyway.

EDIT: Please note this offer is for Pikko and Pikko only. After she helped us get keys in Phase 3 I'd be more than happy to get her one.

What do I need to do in order to get a key? Just log in, confirm my country and wait for an email?

Is it just me or can no one else enter http://entry.ffxiv.com/ to the Open Beta Application page because the servers are too congested?

I followed this from FFXIVCORE http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/13016-link-to-get-beta-key-legit/ Had to refresh a couple of times, but took me right to the User Agreement, accepted and got my key in less then a min. Now I'm just waiting for the client update to finish! 60% left to go.....

Worked for me too.

Used NA link and received an email from autoinfo_eu@account.square-enix.com
I guess this is why they wanted all of us to select our region. 8P

By the way if you're having trouble accessing the management page to apply your key try this link:

http://account.square-enix.com

Or click on the link below, and click on the "Square Enix Management Account" link in the top right corner. I noticed trying to manually visit the account page just brought up some congestion errors. These redirect you to https://secure.square-enix.com.

http://account.square-enix.com/manual/en/attention.html

EDIT: Pikko, I don't know if you got a key or not already but I'm going back to sleep now. I'll hang onto my second one and check back in the morning. If you still need one I'll pass it on via PM. G'nite.

I can't get in either, regardless of the link I use.

SE screwed up, again. Why did I expect anything else?

Square Enix Account Management System Congestion: Follow-up
We would like to take this opportunity to provide an update regarding the congestion of Square Enix Account Management System.

Due to heavy server traffic, we are continuing to experience congestion on Square Enix Account Management System. Along with this congestion, acquisition of registration code for FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test and login to FINAL FANTASTY XIV may become unavailable.

Our technical staffs are continuing to keep an eye on the situation and are working to resolve this issue. If you are unable to access Square Enix Account Management System, we ask that you please wait a while and then try again.

As a countermeasure to the congestion, we are currently restricting the acquisition of registration code for FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test. If you happen to fail on the acquisition of registration code, please wait a while and try again later.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing.

I can confirm the above post is legit. It just appeared in the notices section of my SE account.

- Beta delayed.
- Beta launch email time sent out wrong to EU players (2am when it should have been 3am).
- Lack of foresight on SE's part regarding people trying to sign up.
- Now they seem to be... "restricting" (read: not allowing) beta applications.

And here was me being all optimistic, thinking that they'd learned from FFXI...

I wish you had some idea how insulting it was to people like me who never was invited to closed beta and now can't get into open beta. You really think SE has it out for you? *sigh*.
