I've heard the Server names are different, did I miss any thread about this?

What I've heard so far:

Cornelia
Kashuan
Gysahl
Mysidia
Istory
Figaro
Wutai
Trabia
Lindblum
Besaid

Does anyone have confirmation on this?

Yes, it's true, Cornelia is currently unofficial EU server.

Yes, there are those 10 new names. You can view updates on the server names at this site -> http://www.ffxiv-status.com/

Lindblum appears to be the new Kefka. Not sure about the others. I guess people will have to start up more thread on what server they can find people of a similar timezone/region. But since SE has announced the whole character names transferring over thing, I am guessing that these will be the final server names.

If I am not mistaken they are already in order.

Cornelia (FF1) First town.
Kashuan (FF2)
Gysahl (FF3)
Mysidia (FF4) Summoner village.
Istory (FF5) Not sure.
Figaro (FF6) Sand castle place, right?
Wutai (FF7) Yuffie's town.
Trabia (FF8) Trabia Garden
Lindblum (FF9) Ogolps?
Besaid (FF10) Besaid, Beach Village (Wakka, Lulu, etc)

Not listed in order in the interface, but yeah, the list as written is in order. For details on any of the locations (in case your couple-word notes aren't enough), you can check on the FF Wikia site (that's where I was poking around at what all these places were from last night :). Links to the individual pages follow.

Cornelia
Kashuan
Gysahl
Mysidia
Istory
Figaro
Wutai
Trabia
Lindblum
Besaid

Really? lol, lucky me that I picked it :p

I've seen some japanese on it tho O_o

I thought that with the region restriction etc stuff like that would be "impossible" (yea you could make an account saying you are from europe but)

The servers aren't separated by region, only your SE account.

That is....

AWESOME! If they do not make the mistake of making 100 servers (just a number) this would mean that all the servers will be pretty packed and there should always be something to do online, at any time. A very nice and welcome change, I wish blizzard did this. (so I could play with my mates from USA, me being euro).

Why? It was a great game! Ok sure, it wasn't the plot arcing wonder that other Final Fantasy games were but it was still a very fun game to play! You don't need to grind like most other FFs, the story most along at a good place to keep people interested, simple but effective weapons and armour system-- it was a great starting point for many Final Fantasy and RPG fans!

Not to mention, it has possibly the coolest sound track from any Final Fantasy game in my opinion:

How can that music not make you think "Right, this is it!"

Bah, you've made me want to play through it again :P

I think it was more being able to see monsters that I disliked so much. Getting in 50 random encounters in a dungeon was annoying - but you didn't KNOW you'd get stuck killing 50+ enemies. Seeing a swathe of monsters waiting for me (especially if you went the wrong way and killed them for no reason) was daunting.

That being said, I still played and beat it.
