Hybrid Jobs?Follow

So this is a Q. for those on Beta or those in the know if this has already been covered before then my apologies for asking again. I have looked for a similar thread and not seen one.

Until recently I was under the impression that if you were lvling the gladiator job you had that jobs skill set to use and if you switched equipment/weapons that you were instantly a new job. However a read a post recently that has me a little confused as it was talking about surplus xp and someone posted that it wouldn't be that bad as you wouldn't want to lvl just gladiator and want to lvl other jobs so you could use those skills on the other job when you were playing gladiator..... so does this mean that I can level 3 jobs and then pick and choose the skills I assign to whichever job I am playing at the time. i.e. I use a sword so I am a gladiator but I assign skills learned as a mage and as a Marauder, but whilst playing as a gladiator any lvling I do will be for the Gladiator Job and any new skills learned will be for that job also?

If someone could clear this up for me I really would appreciate it.

Well i'm not exactly sure about gladiator but; i leveled a conjurer to level 6, then switched to Pugilist and I found i could equip my Pugilist with my conjurer's level 6 cure spell and use it :D.

I think you can use skills as long as they don't require a class weapon (eg Heavy Strike which requires fists), which should make them interclass useable.

You have a limited number of points and each ability costs a certain number of points. There are a few this weapon only abilities but the majority can be crossed over tho they do seem to suffer some penalties, such as longer timers.
Overall tho can hybrid yourself up very well once you amassed a few abilities.
Edit: And yes you only gain new abilities from the weapon you are currently using.
