Hi all,

I've just sat back down at the pc and discovered there's an update for the game. The patcher is stuck at 47.3% and has been for quite sometime now. I currently have 45 remote and 14 local connections.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a large update?

Thank you :)

I have that exact problem, and so did my brother.

He also found a different thread where he counted 20+ people with the same problem. Not sure what's going on. I'm just trying to get a key at the moment.

I see :) Thank you anyway. Guess I'll just leave the patcher running and hope for the best! :)

It's a 5mb file and it's causing a lot of people a lot of issues... try running it under utorrent (check t'other threads for info on how to set it up). Takes ~30 secs that way.

I had the same problem, do this:

Quote:
Go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME on your computer\My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\metainfo

Inside you will find 6 torrent files that the beta is using to download the patches. Find the one you are having trouble downloading, most likely it will be H2010.08.10.2000 because that is the big one.

If you have bittorrent or Utorrent, you can just double click this file and it will start downloading it in your preferred program.

After it's done go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME on your computer\My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\patch

Place the file there, then run the updater. It will recognize the patch, download the remaining files and install them. this should only take 10-20 minutes after you've downloaded the first one.

Windows 7 users will find these paths slightly different, but it will still be the last part starting with my games:

My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\meta info

Try the alternative utorrent download, consult this post.

Anyway the just started emergency server maintenance, so even if you can complete it, it wouldn't be possible to log in for a while.

Did the above torrent method and was able to download both files and moved them to the folder they go into...

Now I am getting a "Version check fail" or a "Could not check version... try back later" when I try to update/patch... no clue if it is because the emergency maintenance or if I did something wrong on my end.

I would be willing to put money on the fact that is has something to do with maintenance.

As I was looking for where FFXIV Beta went to on my comp just now, and after like 5 min of searching manually, the update somehow went from the 47.3% to the next thing where it flies through those green bars for uploading... so my guess is just drop your virus protection, restart the updater then just be patient, get some food or whatever.... then restart virus protection and spam the site for a key again

EDIT: Disregard. Soon as I hit post the updater fixed itself.
