WOOT RESOLVED!!

Just had to change my password with SE account management!!! crazy...

Hello all,

I am running into a specific issue that I cant find resolution to. I got my key and was able to activate it. I downloaded the beta and everything seems great.

When I run the beta, it sends me to the SE log in screen. Here is where i hit a wall. When I click to "log in" the screen just immediately refreshes itself. This has been going on since last night. Immediate refresh...

I am running Vista 64 bit and I am running the beta in admin mode.

Here are things I have done that have not solved the issue:
Turned off virus program.
Turned off windows firewall.
Specifically opened up beta ports in my router.
Turned off all security settings in internet explorer (which I don't use).

Anyone have a suggestion? Very frustrated as its seems as I have a client side problem here due to how long I have been having the issue.

Exactly same problem here, but on Windows 7 64 bits.

I tried to reinstall (3 times already) without any sucess, really annoying.

If you put a wrong password or user name it give the error about it, but with the right user and pass it just refresh.

Don't know what to do anymore.

I am sorry to hear you are having the same issue, I understand your frustration. I guess the good news is that other people are dealing with the same thing which means it may be fixed sooner than later...

Any feedback from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody else having this issue or have any suggestions?

It seems that I cannot get access to the "report bugs" area of the beta test site. I have access to the site and the forums there, but not the report bugs area.

I found something curious, the problem is we cannot log this address:

https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app (this is the link to that login screen)

On my computer I cannot log (keep refreshing) with IE8, but works fine with Chrome or Firefox, the problem its because
the launcher use IE -.-.

Hey, great find there, I have worried that it is something with IE (which I never use).

I did this already, but you may want to change your IE security settings down to medium or turn off. You also should delete your cookies. Some people found this resolved their problem... not me.

Thanks for the info though!

Does anyone know if there is a way to force the beta to use a different program for the log in screen?

Also any input about resolving this if it is indeed an IE problem would be helpful. I have already disabled all security inside IE.

Thanks.

the only thing i can think of is making any other browser your default? Or, enabling javascript in IE or installing the latest version of java on your computer. Other than that, ive got nothing. If one of those fixes it though, let me know, im typing out a beast of a q/a thread right now and this would make a good addition

Thanks Dagger, I will let you know if I can resolve the issue. I am at work now, but will be on it tonight.

I already have Firefox set as my default, so I know that won't resolve it, but I will try the other things as well as many other ideas I have formulated in my empty head :)

Thanks for your time.

Maybe purge IE's cache?

Yes, Cid, I considered that and will definitely try it when I get home.

Thanks for your input.

SO i went in to my IE security settings and disabled active scripting almost all the way at the bottom of the custom level area accessed from the security tab and it wouldnt let me click the login button whatsoever. I wasn't getting a refresh or anything though. Does it reset your password when you click it?

No, password and username keep on screen after refresh, if you left blank and click login just refresh also, but if you use wrong info the system show a message about wrong password/username, its **** weird error. And that *ucking page load on every browser besides ie8 -,-

Ok, I found a possible solution (worked for me): change your SE account password, don't ask why, its just worked.

This post saved me:
