Hey guys, dont hate me but I managed to get a key and have successfully connected to the beta and played.

The only thing is that everytime I log in, I get to play about for ten minuets and then SUDDENLY (everytime) the screen turns black and the music stops. My screen stay black and I cant do absolutely anything on my PC, I am forced to manually restart :(.

I have a year old Vaio laptop with a ATI Radeon 4650. The beta runs smooth and all, but it blacks out in ten minutes everytime. Is my CPU overheating? Cuz it gets REALLY hot.

Can someone help me?

Sounds like overheating to me. Try turning all settings down. In and out of game settings that is.

This game pushes hardware to the limits(at least mine). Try using something to prop up the laptop so it gets plenty of fresh air. You also might want to blow out the intake and exhaust on the laptop for good measure with a can of air.

FFXIV Close Beta 3 had a tendency of overheating some video cards and CPU, especially nVidia's.

Try updating your video card with the latest drivers.

Ive tried updating the drivers but I can't seem to find them online :(. I did some more research and found out that it IS IN FACT overheating. Am I screwed for official release?

Try this site for latest drivers:

You could also try going to Sony's own support website since it's a VAIO.

As for release, you're not the only one with overheating problems. I'm pretty sure SE will be working on it eventually.

And if you ask me, a Radeon 4650 mobility probably ain't enough for FFXIV. But I might be wrong.
