I apologise if this question has been addressed elsewhere but did anyone granted a beta key for beta phase 3 get issued with a new key for open Beta? I want to know whether I am alone in losing my beta place.

I was one of the lucky many to pick up a key during ZAM's giveaway but that key no longer works and I have not received a new one through my email!

(as an aside, when it says your SE email account, does that mean the email account registered with SE, or is it some mail account accessed from within your SE account?)

You need to re-apply for open beta and no keys were given to anyone in closed beta. Must reapply

Everyone must re-apply for open beta. Even if you got a beta 3 key.

Go to http://entry.ffxiv.com

Unfortunately beta keys have been temporarily suspended. Try later tonight or tomorrow.

Acquisition of Registration Code for the Open Beta Test

We have an important announcement to the testers who have participated in FINAL FANTASY XIV Closed Beta Test.

Between 19:00 and 19:50 (PDT) on Sep. 1, 2010, an incorrect notice saying "Participants of closed beta test do not need to obtain new registration code for the open beta test." was being made on FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test Application Site.

Participants of closed beta test also need to obtain and register dedicated registration code for the open beta test. Please follow the directions listed in the mail "Guide to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test," which was sent to the participants of closed beta test on Aug. 31, 2010, and obtain the registration code from FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test Application Site.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

That unfortunate message was posted on the beta application site after many of us stopped trying to apply because of the original message...lots of anger last night because of it...many have gotten keys through the regular application process now though...

You're not alone. :)

I spent a few hours trying to get a new one last night (before and after the confusion about b3 testers not needing to reapply). Went to bed, and have been trying ever since. Looks like it's not in the cards.

Same here, no joy for me. Every fan site I read negative posts right now so I'm a little concerned not much was fixed from CB3. I suppose if I ever get in I will find out for myself.

No. We were promised cake, and were only given the dishes.

Or the trash.

Or the finger.

You should know now that the cake is ALWAYS a lie

I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart and killed me.

Talk about appropriate.

As an added problem for me, the recent updated to SE's membership (the one where we had to say where we were based) has moved my country from being in the US region (as we were for FFXI) to the European region.

Here's hoping that the beta client is the same otherwise I am going to have to re-download the entire **** thing.

I am becoming quite disillusioned with the whole process - might wait for retail release given that this is just all too painful!!
