Congratulations to GuardianFaith for guessing it first.

Resorting to sucking up and begging for a beta key is lame.

How about I don't hack you into pieces with a weathered war axe. Reason enough?

I'll give it a go

I want to be in the beta for several reasons, obviously I want to play the game because I enjoyed it in CB, can't lie there ;). Also though I would like to compare it to my experience in CB, while it was fun there were many lackluster or strange choices in certain mechanics and I would like to see how much of it was improved from CB to OB, although I suspect some of the changes to be made in retail as well. Hopefully if we can actually leave them feedback I can leave some more detailed thoughts and bug reports which I couldn't during P3. I would like to check out this new "mob balance and placement" that happened, limsa lominsa had a terrible lack of good grinding spots that most of which supported only two people at the most, I am hoping this changed. There is also some mobs I would like to test if were actually changed, my gladiator could defeat a decent challenge mole with ease, then die horribly to same conned Dodo. I would also like to put more effort into crafting this time around, specifically alchemy and trying to find some of the unfound recipes such as potions and maybe ethers if we can go that high (they did say more crafting recipes were added).

Why should *I* get this key? For one, assuming the next batch of keys is limited, I would gladly give one away in a similar fashion, though we don't know if next batch will be unlimited or not. Secondly, I also have a tendency to answer questions shouted into chat in cities and around aetheryte,as many people find difficulties in certain game mechanics (leves, ability sets macros for class changing, crafting tips etc.) and I gladly explain these to them which can help some of the newbies out getting this stuff going.

Okay fine, suggestions? Also people have been sucking up anyway and begging for keys. *points to a thread offering a $10.00 award for a key*

I will give it a shoot, actually the key is not for me but for a friend, Why should you give the key to a friend of poster you ask? well my only legit reason is that we are going to put our efforts in crafting/gathering and expanding the wiki material, we already collaborate a bit here, here and here, on phase 3, and while we can do this with one account two will improve our performance considerably, although I beg you to consider fist other people who doesn't have access at all.

Thanks for reading.

Ken.

P.D. besides my name is on your signature!!!

Well..

I've been playing Final Fantasy since the late 80s as a little kid. I've been a loyal fan ever since. I'd like to play in open beta to get a good feel for the game and begin building relationships with future linkshell mates. I was in closed beta phase 3, but by the time I got a key and activated it; I was only able to test for a few days due to the delayed keys fiasco. I'm really interested in exploring the new cities and surrounding areas. Probably the same reasons most people want to get in. I have been excited for this game since the release of the rapture project video in 2005. The fact that it's right around the corner is all that much better.

*Oh and I gave a beta key away for phase 3. So that's just karma, right?

Nah, you're just like the rest of us, tired of checking the SE site every 5 minutes. If I never see the 'server busy' page again. It will be too soon.

Agreed. Should be like some sort of guessing competition like "what's my favorite game" or something they can't google the answer to. ;)

I don't know what's more annoying:

1) People having multiple keys while I have trouble even getting just one.
or
2) It always being US keys people are giving away while I got to find an EU one.

this fiasco even had me on the edge a bit today though, which doesn't happen very often =/ hopefully we can all have keys by the end of tomorrow, they've had quite awhile to work on it and the site seems (relatively) stable for now too.

That would be rigged, with my telepathetic powers I would be able to deduce the answer immediately.

Okay new one! Answer this riddle:

What is born, without skin...
Cries once, but never cries again?

First person to answer correctly gets the key. As for the three people (Silverwyrm, kenage, and GuardianFaith) if you feel this is unfair I have an unused FFXI key I purchased but never used from a Steam account. I'll draw a name randomly from a hat and that person gets it.

PM has been sent! As for kenage and Silverwyrm, and you too Onionthief, if you three are interested I still have an unused FFXI key to giveaway as compensation. It's from the Vana'diel Ultimate Collection which includes every FFXI expansion and all the paid expansions minus the newly released Abyssea ones bundled into one key. If you guys wish to enter for this one I'll write your names on some paper and randomly choose one to get it.

Thanks Pal that's not necessary, but I'll really appreciate if you can tell us exactly how long ago(hours and minutes) you got your key.

I'm trying to camp the site and for that I want to know how many key-giving windows had happened so far.

I got the key the other night, soon as I got my own key I registered a new account to get a key for my roomie. At first I was going to give it to Pikko since she still didn't have a key but I never got any replies back, so I was gonna hang onto it. Finally issues came, roomie ****** me off, so I figured I'd put it to good use to someone who needed a key on here. I don't got much else to do so I might try again for another key and if I manage another one both you kenage and Silverwyrm will be first on my list to give it to.
