Whatever SE did, they got it right.

According to the minimum specs, I shouldn't even be able to run the game, but since the last update I am running full screen at 1920 x 1200, graphics low but not at minimum, very little mouse lag, and I would guess around 27 or so FPS. The menus and maps take a second or two to pop up but combat and everything else is smooth. No chop from bad framerates either. I still think a lot of the menu delay is from server lag though.

Prior to the patch I was running in windowed mode at 1280 x 720, and it's running better now, with full screen and the higher resolution, than it was then.

While I haven't tested any busy parts of the city yet, the game is playable. Although I probably wouldn't join a group or anything.

Specs:

Athlon 64 X2 4200 (2.2Ghz)
8800GT 512MB
3Gig of memory
Win 7 Pro x64

The fan on the GPU picked up a little after about 10 minutes, but speedfan was reading the GPU at about 71C and the cores at about 42C, which isn't that far off of normal.

Don't know what this has to do with "server smoothnessity" but I agree, my client runs a lot better.

But, the populated areas (first Aetherite Crystals specifically) are very laggy for me, takes me about 10 seconds per spell cast, luckily it looks like the mobs are suffering from latency issues too

That's not too bad really.

When I played in Closed Beta - I didn't realize you could adjust the graphics... I was playing with Shadows On, normal everything, etc.. with my Dual Core and 9800GT 3GB Ram and it played fine.

Now what I know how to adjust graphics/screen size - I can't wait to reduce shadows, etc and see how much smoother it plays.

It's nice to hear it plays for you even on that settings. The real test is getting near an aethercyte in a place like Bearded Rock.

however things like mining now take forever...was that normal in CB? a couple hours ago i could mine quickly (no lag between clicking and doing) now its fairly tedious and slow. maybe just a glitch for now?

Where are you mining? Actions near the first levequest hubs are really laggy, but the further out you get the quicker they are
