Hey, I'm just slightly confused about the code for this, I'm going to buy Final Fantasy XIII PS3 pre-owned and ask if they have one with the code still within the case like edge1006 successfully did.

What I'm wonder is it the Square Enix Members Product Registration Card Code I'm looking for:

Or is it another code?

I can't remember if there was another code for the 360 version for the avatar item, or if it was once you register the game you get sent another code to redeem for the item.

If I remember correctly - the code inside the box was used to register the game on Square Enix members.

Then you were given ANOTHER code to save after doing that.

I don't remember where to look them up unfortunately. So many sites/etc to sift through.

Cool, after a bit more searching i found several places stating the same thing you register that code and receive the other one by email. Just wanted to confirm there wasn't some sort of scratch away code as-well. Guess i'll go try my luck.

Remember that only the PS3 version has the ability to get you your XIV item. Also, why buy it used and risk it? Amazon's selling FFXIII brand new for $33.74 shipped, which is probably cheaper than what you'd get it for used at a place like Gamestop, and you won't have to worry about missing out on your XIV item.

It has to be a pre-order copy I believe, doesn't it?

It was emailed to you, or at least it was emailed to me. You can find it again, or at least I found mine again at http://member.square-enix.com/na/features/ff13/serialcode/ps3.php

*PLEASE NOTE
- The FINAL FANTASY XIV promotional code is available in limited quantities. The code is obtainable by registering a serial code printed on a special MEMBERS Point Card included in the first production run of FINAL FANTASY XIII for PlayStation 3.

How do I go about applying this code anyway?
The instructions are somewhat vague...
I do recall using the code to register for the PS3 Beta but I don't know if that linked the code to my account.

Yes there will be two types of Registration cards you can get.
One of the them is just a plain old black and red more square shaped card that does not have the big FFXIII title on it.

The one you showed in the image is the correct one.
That reg code will get you the Asuran Armbands. (Granted that the code works)

Just ask the guys in the shop for the registration cards out of the boxes.
Dont buy the boxes ... if they give you a hard time offer to make a reserve for a game.. and go back a week later and cancel it...

To actually apply the code you log into the Square Enix site and in the top right corner where your username and stats are there is a button that says "register your game redeem points"

click that and use the code to register the game and you will get the armbands if the code works.

I don't think that is correct?

You register your game - then you recieve the actual Promotional Code, right?

I registered my game a few weeks ago - it gave me the promotion code - and I've found nowhere to redeem the code. I assume it will be a seperate button for other CE/FFXI/FFXIII related goodies on the actual Account Management page?

Or is this not correct?

The code you get in the FFXIII box can be registered now at SE website. After you register that code they give you another code. Use this one after you get FFXIV installed.

I believe you are correct EmotionBlues. Once you have an active account for FF XIV you must then register the promotional code for your items, Onion Helm or Garlond Goggles and the Asuran Armbands.
