I find the targeting system obnoxious at times. Sometimes I'll be trying to switch mobs and try to switch from the one thats about to die to the one right next to it. Instead I seem to target ever mob and player clear across the screen before I get to the one right in front of me.

Drives me crazy. Also, I don't know if this is just me but I can't cycle targets while I am in first person. Ah well, I am sure they will sort this junk out by release.

Or at least I hope.

Its called a camera ;). And to answer this question, its because the arrow keys are bound to other actions, you can however open up your config tab and re-bind keys to whatever you like, just not the arrow keys (yet, hopefully they change that).

Click "TAB" to scroll through targets. F12 targets nearest NPC you're looking at (you have to be facing it).

What do you wanna heal? unless you have a hernia you wont have to sit down in this game to heal, unlike FFXI...haven't you noticed your health regenerating on its own??? oohh i know your problem, you need to go into passive mode (meaning put away your weapon) in order to start healing.

Solutions to all your problems, go to this site and read the manual: https://dev-na.ffxiv.com/ubbthreads.php

Gonna help you out a little bit because i was quite annoyed until i started messing around with a few buttons ^_^ :

#1 you can use I, J, K, L to move your camera, awkward but thats all you can work with right now (unless someone knows more)

#2 i dont remember exactly but it's one of the higher F9/F10 keys something like that.
#3 the letter "F" key switches between active and passive mode. you're in active while you look ready to fight and in passive when your character appears to be in a neutral stance. while in passive mode you regain health a little bit at a time while also losing TP (yes you can run while in passive and regain health THANK THE ALMIGHTY)[mp cannot be recovered in that way though]. While in active mode you dont regain health but you dont lose TP either.

Hope I was helpful ^_^

You need to go to the menu (press '-' on the numpad) and select return.

I'm usually one of those "ZOMG RTFM!!!" people, but I'm 100% with you and everyone else that's brought up the Return issue. I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't have implemented the same flow for death menus the way they did for XI, but it's such a small issue that I doubt it will change before release.

This is almost the entire basis of the game, it's even on the main ffxiv page when you look at the armoury system info. And yes, I expect people to research and/or learn about an mmo before they jump in. Not everyone does, but I still expect it.
