Clearing up the lag? One can dream?

Aside from the awful keyboard controls, not being able to assign camera to arrows, lag is my only issue. I know my PC isn't top of the line, but it's decent and the UI/Input lag is unbearable.

Macros don't equip actions properly because of the lag >< Have to hit them 5-10 times to get everything equipped, would just go through the menu's but those take 5 seconds per screen to load. /wrist

Aside from those 2 things <3 it.

Just wondering if you are playing with higher settings than you should. Yes, there is some UI lag left, but it is light years better than it was. I also use macros to swap jobs, and I never have to hit it more than once to get everything to assign. Maybe between settings and your internet there is some issue? Not saying it's not the game, but noting that I don't experience this issue, so it might not be the game. =)

I have practically no lag so it is his specs - my computer isn't top of the line and i'm playing on high res decent settings with virtually no lag.

I think the last maintenance broke the ability to obtain wind shards and now this is being fixed = P

If you haven't experienced lag, you haven't been playing the game that much. My system runs the game completely fine without a breakdown in the graphics, however there is clearly lag in relaying information about HP and spells being cast at certain heavy usage times of the day.

I know my machine isn't the best, but like I said it is decent. Lag is there anyone who is saying it is completely lag free is smoking some bad stuff. But the further I am away from the hordes of people the better it is. But even on my own the macros are not setting after the first hit, still takes a few. My internet connection is fine... business connection from home :P

I notice the mouse is easier to move now when I switch away from the controller though, that's a plus. I really imagine the lag will be a lot better on release. Probably one of the things they are measuring/correcting through OB?

Iv'e just had to stop playing as the lag was unbearable, i know its saturday and all but that was just comical, fights were impossible, movement was broken completely and i was still getting items from mobs 10 mins after i killed one, i think i may quit this for good now and wait it out till retail.

I didn't mean to say there was no lag at all, just that I haven't experienced any lag that I would consider detrimental to my play, and certainly none in the macros to the point that I need to hit it multiple times.

I don't have much lag but I do get the occasional critical error at the end of some cutscenes. (And yes I have to do them all over again)

Out of all of those not experiencing lag, how many are in Ul'dah?

Out of all of those experiencing lag, how many are in Gridania?

I just traveled from Gridania to Ul'dah last night and noticed a world of difference in combat lag when even leaving black shroud. I played in closed beta fine but ran into bad lag during combat while fighting outside of Gridania. On my server (and I suppose nearly all) there are orders of magnitude more people in Gridania than Ul'dah. If you cannot stand the lag, consider going there. I am not sure how Limsa Lominsa is.

That's fair, the congestion of the area would surely have an effect. I am in Ul'Dah.

Yes I was in Gridania. That might have something to do with it. The lag was so crazy last night that mobs wouldn't even move towards you. I was getting basically free xp killing them. My TP after battle would take 10 full minutes to return to 0 while I wasn't in combat. That's how bad the lag was.

I forced vertical sync on for my graphics card and turned on triple buffer, and things look and feel much smoother.
