So i spent ages collectiong the mats for a bronze gladius, just to realize that when I built it it has the exact same stats as a weathered one..

So is the weathered gladius the best gladiator sword possible to attain in the beta?

And do gladiators ever get to use longswords? Or just these little gladius' the whole time?

And what else is there to do once you've completed 8 local and 8 regional leves?

All i can seem to think of is grinding mobs to level up..

And i would love to craft but every time I try blacksmith an item it just fails.. even though i'm level 8, unless its a guild leve.

I'm probably wrong but I get the feeling some things you can only craft once you have been given the recipie for it. right now there are only the guildleves from the adventurers guild and a short story quest but that's just to get you to try out more of what the game has to offer before release. In the full game you will be able to join your crafts guild, no doubt they will give you more leves.

As to failed attempts, finding out at what level you can successfully craft items is trial and error. I think abilities/traits (I forget which one) will have somthing to do with it, as you have to buy them with currency specific to your guild.

Bronze items are the first crafting tier. You can craft better items. Actually you can get bronze items that are better than base if you are good at crafting.
