Has anyone had this problem. I'm probably overlooking something very simple but the game is not allowing me to unequip my main hand weapon or let me by one from the store. I've heard logging out and in remedies the problem but I have had no success.

You can't unequip a weapon without replacing it with something else. (you can't have 'nothing' equipped)

As for not being able to buy a weapon at a shop, I'm not sure...

I had this problem, and I wasnt able to switch it to another either, and at the same time I was having problems with attacking and with switching abilities. However, it was just a one-off bug it seems because it worked when I relogged today. Sorry I'm not much help to you but.. at least you'll know you're not on your own ^^

Most likey you're still in active fighting stance mode. Try presssing the letter "F" and see if you can swap weapons. Now you can completely unequip a weapon. Go into [Inventory] and choose the weapon that you have wielded. Click on the dialogue box at the bottom when you weapon box opens. A new popup window should appear with a choice at the bottom to unequip.

I think you can also make a generic maco to clear out your weapons and abilities.

/equip main ""
/eaction 2 ""
/eaction 3 ""
/eaction 4 ""
/eaction 5 ""
/eaction 6 ""
/eaction 7 ""
/eaction 8 ""
/eaction 9 ""
/eaction 10 ""

If you have a shield wielded or some other offhand tool, you can add the following line to your macro.

/equip sub ""

Here are the rest of the locations so you can swap armor and other items. [Ref. Eorzaepedia]

Throwing weapon (throwing)
Pack (pack)
Pouch (pouch)
Head (head)
Body (body)
Body (clothing) (shirt)
Legs (legs)
Legs (clothing) (garment)
Hands (hands)
Feet (feet)
Waist (waist)
Neck (neck)
Right Ear (R.ear)
Left Ear (L.ear)
Right Wrist (R.wrist)
Left Wrist (L.wrist)
Right Index Finger (R.index)
Left Index Finger (L.index)
Right Ring Finger (R.ring)
Left Ring Finger (L.ring)

If you macro, don't forget to add bait or arrows to the right slot. :D

I don't have time to login at the moment, but just wanted to note I was definitely not in active mode.

Were you trying to buy the same weapon? The starter weapons are unique so if you, say, wanted to buy a new one instead of messing around with repairs, you'd need to equip a different classes weapon, sell the old one, then buy the new.
