Its very uncool to enjoy playing this game and the peer pressure has nearly broken me but whilst I never considered myself a fanboy before I clearly am one because I am having such a great time in the game.

IT certainly has its issues (but that is not what this thread is about).

Come on, tell us all what you like about the game!!!

I shall start with the very obvious and least important of the good stuff - this game looks fantastic having the best graphics I have ever seen in an mmo. I also love the combat mechanics so far and am really enjoying having to think about what I attack rather than just grinding through like you do on most mmorpgs.

Anyone else like anything?

i have to agree with the battle system the position of when you attack makes a HUGE difference in damage (even for magic!). so it makes it alot more fun. you can kill much better from behind ;)

I love the new interactive crafting/gathering system. I really hated that before it was just luck/math.

the new resting system is good too. i hated sitting haha. standing gets you more. and for mages you have a special ability to regain MP so thats good. and also a lock on how often you can use the crystal for MP/HP is a GOOD thing!

the GUI might be slow atm. but its kinda nifty.

also. maybe some people dont like that basicly there is only 3 zones i think now? but the zones are HUGE and well HUGE! and not having to zone all the time is great! as long as you stay to the road things tend to be low level and you leave the road and things go to **** haha. good cuz i can travel to another city, alone, at lvl rank6 10 phys

the music is beautiful (obvoiusly)

i have to say...i am not for the voice acting haha but i like that their IS voice acting ;)

i cant wait for the company system and the retainer system to be tweaked up(they are adding a search function i believe. and also the new buy part of the bazaar rocks. i got a lot of wind crystals that way just running around saying i want them for cheap haha...silly little people)

i could go on...;) but i am making myself sick hahahaha

Everyone who's currently playing this game is a fanboy believe it or not. Everyone who comes to these forums and posts here is most likely a fanboy deep down. There's a lot more fanboys than you'd think, the thing is the game they want to believe in so bad has a lot of flaws. Think of it as the same situation as to why parents will yell and discipline their kids when they do something wrong. It's because they love them, just as we love and want to love this game. We find many little faults about it and are loud in voicing them to Square Enix in hopes that our voices will be heard and they will fix things for the better. The people who will defend absolutely anything without questioning it are the same ones who do so in the real world. I won't get further into it but let's just call them "closed minded" which often spawns by their own insecurities and inability to comprehend complexity.

There's a lot of things I find wrong with the game currently, there's no denying it but I don't think there's anything "uncool" about saying you like it. All the frustrating things aside and all of Square Enix's completey blatant laziness on so many things the game itself is a masterpiece.

It looks absolutely amazing, it plays well, the character creation is great (and I assume we'll have more variables to it come retail launch), the story even so far is absolutely amazing, the cities are designed amazingly, the armor looks absolutely stunning and it's all just a bunch of low level newbie armor so far. The game also feels like you can play it more at your own pace and not have to worry about things so much or feel like it's such a job, hopefully it stays this way.

The game itself has an absolute metric ton of potential, Square Enix just needs to get some of their ducks in a row and stop being stupid, lazy or in-denial about some issues.
Long Live Vana Diel.
