I got both files from the torrent route and placed them in the corresponding folders but no dice. Even put the torrent file with the rest of them and still it boots up as if the files are not in place. I miss a step? It worked fine for the patch yesterday.

i had the same problem at first too, i had to do them 1 at a time, i did the first one, completed update and went to do second and it stayed at 0%, went back to second folder, moved the file out and tried again and it worked. im sorry kind of hard to explain exactly but keep trying im sure you will get it.

Figured out what works on the official downloader. If you stall for an extended time just cancel and retry. Spam retry until you get it within a few minutes.

I got all three updates from the torrent.

My game boots up, and I no longer have a UI.

Oh noes. :(

Wow.. I am going to **** something up. I have no idea what I am doing.. After I finish downloading those two files... i double click the .rar file and open up some weird window.. I am so confused... what do I copy where? I've read http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/12719-open-beta-download-links-install-instructions/ thought I understood it.. but noop. Still getting no where.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem too, but I haven't seen anything when crawling around the forums here tonight. I downloaded the patch via torrents (as I always do, to avoid this terrible client), but when I open it back up, the client hangs on "Downloading version update files", for file D2010.09.05.2000. I've got the patch in the right folder, I've downloaded it through torrenting and also through a rapidshare file, and it still won't go past this.

Any ideas?

I've also tried the other method listed at ffxivcore. I downloaded the two files, put the .patch files in the folders that it says to put them in, and tried to run the game. It just does exactly the same thing as before. Opens the patcher, tries to download the files and gets stuck at 94.6

Thanks Kitpower. While I did do everything right with the data that others linked, for some reason only your patch made it jump to 100% on both boot and data for me at least.

For what it's worth, I replaced the top file directly from the sub-directory of the RAR file and didn't simply copy paste the folder. Overwrote the top directory (boot) *File* first, then did the random stringed one (data) next. Fired the patcher up and it worked fine here.

To those who can't still find the folders, try My Documents > Saved Games > FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version > downloads > ffxiv-beta > then the two folders you'll need to go into > patch > then the files themselves. Top one is for boot patch, second one is for data patch.

The servers are currently down for maintenance. IF you cannot login for some reason I highly recommend checking this website: www.ffxiv-status.com/ before coming to the forums to ask for help, it will save everyone some time.

I thought I had it made - burst through the 94.6%, through the 94.8% only to freeze up at 99.9%

That was depressing!

Same thing here.. says servers are up, stuck at 99.9%, done everything with Utorrent, and it still says downloading, eh well.

I now use uTorrent to download updates!

2 things I swore I would NEVER do.
