Stuck downloading beta update.Follow

I'm stuck at 98.4% of 3/3. It's been this way for an hour now. I have 57 remote connections and 3 local connections. My upload/download are both at 0 b/s. I have no idea what to do. It's driving me nuts to be stuck at the end like this as I'm very eager to try this game.

Ridere over in "94.6% is the new 94.8%" has just the cure for your ills:

Here's my reply to the other download issues. As long as you're okay with some outside torrent program usage and some dragging/dropping, you should hopefully have success with this. I haven't tested it today, as I'm at work for another 7 hours, but give it a shot. It worked for yesterday's patch.

1. Open the FFXIV open Beta client, allow it to get to the step where it begins downloading files. This will ensure you have the torrents downloaded on your computer.

2. Open whatever application you use for downloading torrents. If you do not use one already, I would suggest uTorrent ( www.utorrent.com ). In Utorrent, File > add torrent. Point Utorrent to the following:
Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\metainfo

UPDATE: The patch folder this time around may be "bca2a8ae" so the above path may be, "Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\bca2a8ae\metainfo". I'm not at home to confirm, so my apologies for any confusion here.

In the metainfo folder you will find files that have the same name as the patch your FFXIV was trying to download. Select these files, and hit open.

3. Utorrent will now begin downloading these files to your computer. Based on your internet connection and security settings this should take less than 5 minutes. By default Utorrent downloads to the "downloads" folder in your documents folder. After it is complete there will be a folder called D96437e6, inside of this folder there will be a folder called patch, and inside the patch folder, there will be the actual patches

4.Copy these files to Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\patch

UPDATE: The patch folder this time around may be "bca2a8ae" so the above path may be, "Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\bca2a8ae\patch". I'm not at home to confirm, so my apologies for any confusion here.

5. Open FFXIV, it will try to patch again, realize it already has the information, and prompt you to log in.

6. Win.

Did this myself earlier, and it worked like a charm. Pretty sad that you have to resort to third-party programs just to patch the gorram game because the official downloader sucks so much, but, such is life.

I have no idea what I did wrong, but now it's moved onto a blue patcher. It's downloading File: H2010.08.30.2000...1/9. FML, what do I need to do next?

Wait a very long time.

That file that you need to download is about 4.7GB so it is very massive. Downloading it with the SE official downloader is very tedious and time consuming. If you know how to, I reccomend using uTorrent to download it. I torrented mine and it took all night to complete.

Also the 1/9 bit is that including the 4.7GB patch there are 8 other smaller patches (about 4MB each) that you need to download.

I am having a similar problem except I did download the files from utorrent and put them in the right folders, but it tries to download the big file anyway and gets stuck at 9.0% then times out every time. Also it says 1/2. I have 10 files in the d96437e6 patch folder and 5 in the bca2a8ae patch folder that I downloaded all from utorrent. Clearly something is wrong and I don't know what it is.
