Wireless xbox360 controller connected with USB charger cord. Doesn't show up on computer when connected. Is there a work around for this?

You need a wired controller. Wireless 360 controllers only use the USB cable to charge, not to transfer data.

They've been like that for as long as I can remember.

You can get a wireless USB adapter to use your controller on your PC. I just bought one for 35 bucks on amazon.

These are the cheapest adapters for the controller. It takes forever for them to ship from Hong Kong. About 2 weeks or so, but shipping is free.

Wow, guess I should have looked harder for one. I kinda want it here in two days though, I have no patience when it comes to playing this game.

Wired controllers are Plug 'n Play, I believe, so long as you're using a Windows box.
