DO NOT BOTHER. I can attest that the system for damaged equipment is not implemented yet. Whether your equipment has 100% durability, 50%, or 0% there is no difference. Items that reach zero durability do not disappear, un-equip, or cease to function anymore. I ran around with every piece of equipment on my character with zero durability for awhile. It surprised me once I noticed it and thought that maybe it was hampering my effectiveness. So I went to lengths to get it all repaired or replaced with the same items. Guess what? No difference. I then swapped out completely broken items with non broken items and tested back and forth. Again there was no difference. So until something is implemented, do not bother and have fun.

I suspected as much. Guess I will have to test this myself later.

Good to know that forming a monopoly on Hempen Pantalettes is useless right now.

Doesn't mean I won't try.

Me too...though it wouldn't bug as much if when you highlighted it the text it spits out wasn't in Japanese.

I'm not so sure about that. I was fighting moles in a cave and noticed how crappy my damage had become. Checked my hora (I was a pugilist) and they were at 0 durability. Didn't want to be bothered to fix them so I just tossed them and bought new ones... massive improvement in damage. For weapons at least, keeping them in good repair is beneficial.

I have both "broken" and non broken weapons and can make a video showing you that is not the case. At least not with the weathered weapons. Well as soon as I can get back in the game.

I can second this, same thing happened to me.

I can attest to this being true, as well. Unless someone cares to explain how my damage went from 10 to 40 against the exact same mob when the only difference was I'd repaired my hora?

For main hand weapon replacement (Weathered Hora), I switched weapons (To a Miners Pick/or whatever doesn't matter), discarded my Weathered Hora, and bought a NEW Weathered Hora in U'ldah for 678GIL.

Back to full power.

While many of us would get a chuckle out of the wasted time, we already know better. Equipment at 0 durability suffers.
