i am running windows 7....i did a windows update and there are no new files for me.

You sure you cleaned all of the files out? They're spread out into a few locations, so just removing the folder from Program Files will not cut it. I forget where they're all at (Documents? %PATH%?), but I'm not particularly happy with that decision.

Yeah why /Documents/ folder? Is this folder not generally kept for documents? Maybe /Program Files/ would be a better idea for program files.

You'd think that... I know I was confused at how small the folder inside Program Files was, until I found out where the rest of the dat files were hiding. Unfortunately, I don't remember where they're at anymore.

Game data is stored in Documents/My Games/, it's where good game developers store their game save data among other things. The idea is that if you at least backup your documents, then you will get your game saves in the backup as well.

i had this problem, mainly because i am running 4-2tb hardrives on raid-5.... i was trying to install to one of my partitions with my install drive full. i had to make sure i had enough space on my main C: drive if you will to allow for install.

after i cleaned things up to allow for install i relocated the install. i am running windows 7 64 bit as well...

the solution seemed to fix itself soon as i gave up trying to install it to another location..make sure you have enough space on your main install drive.
