Mages:
Make a Macro that is named "AoE" and type in /aoe as the only command. This allows you to toggle your spells to hit multiple targets (Area of Effect). Works with Cure as well!

Name: AoE
/aoe

Test it out. It will tell you that you are targeting Mutiple Targets, and then hit it again to toggle back to Single Target.

I have my class changing macros written like this.

Conjurer:

/equip "Weathered Cane"
/eaction 2 "Thunder" main
/eaction 3 "Fire" main
/eaction 4 "Tranquility" main
/eaction 5 "Cure" main

In some cases you need to add the word "main" to the end of each /eaction to tell it what hand does the ability. For some classes this is not necessary.

Fish:

/equip main "Weathered Fishing Rod"
/equip sub "Bronze Gig"
/equip pack "Bloodworm"
/eaction 2 "Wrist Flick"
/eaction 3 "Gulleye" sub

Notice you have to use the word "sub" for your off-hand, "pack" for arrows or bait.

DoL: Take a look at which of your Class's tools has a higher "scanning" ability on the equipment screen. Make sure to set your scanning ability (Gulleye, Lay of the Land, etc.) to that hand, usually the sub.

Goodluck everyone!

Nice post, thanks. I haven't tried myself but I heard "z" now also toggles AOE, can someone confirm?

I can confirm, it's better than having my hand fly all over the place if I need to heal AoE and switch back to single target when wanting to nuke a mob. Before I discovered the Z toggle, Clicking the green button was the only way I knew how... And witht he laggy mouse and long hand movements it has already resulted in a gory death of my Roegadyn lancer friend :p

There are many who find a good alibi far more attractive than an achievement. For an achievement does not settle anything permanently. We still have to prove our worth anew each day: we have to prove that we are as good today as we were yesterday. But when we have a valid alibi for not achieving anything we are fixed, so to speak, for life.

I was really hoping for someway to run up to the shore and hit a macro set and start fishing, not go into main menu to select "fish".

Oh awesome thanks. This will make changing between single and aoe damage much easier :)

I didn't really know what those stats do or what abilities use them since there wasn't much explanation on them, but that makes sense. Thanks.

I found this page useful as well. Especially the shorthands for the equipment slots.

This is really interesting. I wonder if you can set a command for interactions.

You have tried "/fish" and it didn't work?

I don't think /fish works. The menu selection might be an anti-RMT bot thing.

When targetting multiple enemies, is the damage done divided between all the targets? Or does it damage all targets by the regular amount?

It appears to be full damage. I would say that the resist rate is higher, though. I see alot more 0's in AoE mode than Single. I don't know the answer for sure. There may be some reduction, but still see 200+ in AoE mode. Single is ~250 at my level.

To get the mobs to cooperate with AoE tactics, I run up to exactly where one mobs is standing and cast Spirit Dart on the second mob (that is further away). Then immediately cast Fire or Thunder (AoE). The mob will run at you and, by the time the spell hits, it will be in range of the mob you are standing next to.
