I'm crashing every time I try to take any action after getting to the character select screen. Literally, any action: mouse clicks, keyboard presses, anything. If I don't do anything but select my character, I can fully log in, but then any subsequent action boots me.

I'm trying to figure out if it's related to the mouse patcher right now.

This is a known issue with the DirectX coding. Fortunately, for you, as you stated in another thread, SE doesn't listen to peoples feedback and follows their own direction. Unfortunately, for the rest of us, we are stuck with this bug.

Sigh, I am experiencing the same issue.
It works when I use my PS3 controller only, but the second I hit a key on the keyboard it crashes.

I did step away from the PC a few minutes and when I came back the game had crashed, I don't know if it just crashed by itself or if I by accident hit a keyboard button when I put down the PS3 controller.

Either way, totally annoying.

I seem to have solved my issue. It appears it was in fact, due to the mouse patch for me. I installed a new ffxivgame.exe file from here:

Game is working now, but I'll have to try again with the latest mouse patch and see if it still works.

Phew...okay, the mouse patcher still works for me. Perhaps I had screwed something up when I was moving my backups around.

Hopefully that's an indication that your issue was fixed too?
