Inventory/LootFollow

#1 Sep 07 2010 at 2:31 PM Rating: Good
In FFXI we had a Auto sort for inventory, FFXIV seems to have a loot bag like you had on FFXI when in a party, Does anyone know of a way to make it go straight to your bag instead of going to the loot bag and distributing it to your bag?

Sorry in advance if this had been asked already.

Thanks.

I have no idea. I always thought stuff went straight to your inventory. The only time I noticed that it went to Loot was when I was in a party or when my inventory was full and I needed to trade stuff off (or didn't notice and lost all the stuff that was in my loot after a time).

It might just be a bug that makes items go to your Loot if you recently were in a party because I'm pretty sure it does go straight to your inventory otherwise. Anyone else confirm?

I've not been in a party yet, Shards seems to go into inventory, But stuff like Moko Grass +1 or +2 go into loot and you have to distribute it to your bag? :S

It might be what is happening, I am not sure. They do move to your inventory after a time so you don't have to do it manually.

all loot when dropped goes into the loot list for a pre-determined amount of time before being shoved into your inventory. items auto stack and "sort" into the relevant catagories, but last i checked there was no way of organising each catagory... which makes it a real pain to find the items you want sometimes

You don't have to as long as you just ignore it like I do lol. Eventually it automatically goes into your inventory so you don't have to sit there and transer things 1 by 1. After grinding for a good bit, I may take a quick break to bring up Zam and when I get back to the game all that stuff is moved from my loot to my inventory for me.

As a FFXI old timer, i'd just like to point out that they only added the inventory autosort ~1 year after the windower did it. And they only did that because they wanted to give people less reason to use it. Before that, single items that could stack, would pile up your inventory 1 by 1, until you manually forced an inventory sort, which only then would stack things. They at least have that feature in FFXIV, But yes still lacking the option to sort inventory in general.

Same goes for official windowed mode which took like over another year to arrive.

For most of FFXI's lifetime, it didn't have autosort, or windowed mode. Both of which people had been begging for for years and years and years. And it only added certain other windower features this year, in the form of the official shadow counter icon.

Saying they're slow to implement these things isn't strong enough a term. They move like erosion... They're... Erosious.

Just want new people to know the beast they're getting in bed with.

I guess now I'd like a better autosort. I like that it stacks items for me, but like others have mentioned...put weapons first then armor then mats & other items. Or make more tabs like for the crystals, actually scratch that...more tabs would suck too = P

I do like the fact that your loot pool does not disappear if you change zones or teleport. Less drama of things getting lost.
