Ive had two issues that have really been getting on my nerves, i cant tell if its something to do on my end or if its common as i havent seen it really discussed around here.

1. Every once and a while ill get this horizontal line maybe ~1/2 inch thick that runs aross the screen thats not too noticeable but enough for it to bother me.
2. When going down stairs/hills/bumps/ect. the camera will almost vibrate as im running. I could kind of understand if it was just down stairs to give a "jutter" effect, but it happens so often its giving me headaches.

Am I the only one, and anyone have any idea of a way to try to fix these?

Note: all graphic drivers up to date, running at settings that im having a smooth very playable frame rate.

I saw something about this the other day. Apparently more noticeable on ATI cards.
Solution is, I think, to turn off AA or AO. But google it as I'm not 100% sure on the cure.

I'm having the same issues. Running 5870.

*raises hand* you're not the only one, I have the exact same issues, just waiting them out hoping they're gone by release.

Do you mean the line that makes all the graphics behind it just appear blurry and distorted? If so, if you eventually fix this, PLEASE tell me how you did it!

Running an ATI HD4890 with both those same issues but only during Full Screen. When I use windowed mode it doesn't happen.

Probably not the card's error but a Catalyst driver error.

That distorted horizontal line is some type of bug with the vertical sync, even with ATI setting 'force vertical sync' will it allow the screen to tear like that, its a bug with ATI drivers and Open GL applications. The good news there is a fix and it will even work better than ATI's vertical sync, also fixes several other game not being able to get vertical sync to work properly with ATI cards like for example FFXI, only way i could get vertical sync to work is with D3DOverider, it is part of rivatuner, 2.24 is the latest version.

sadly i think this is not an FFXIV issue but a PC side issue. the bumping could just be due to a lower framerate drop when going downastairs (if the camera starts jumping and the frame rate is low it will get nasty) but during running it would look fine

just to test it turn all graphics down to low and see if it is still craping on you.

games still take sides with ATI or nvidia. I have nvidia and no real issues like these

and of course make sure to update all drivers...but i am sure someone already said that

re-read your post

all i know is i havnt noticed this. but i think its just a smooth camera movement issue for the stairs. they probably are thinking "we can deal with that later". Sadly alot of bugs are not make or break so they are putting them off till probably a month after release :/

but. try turning the graphics all the way down. just to see if it STILL happens

HD5870 user and I get this too.

The name does it pretty much all the time rather then just running down some stairs.

I'm using a HD5870 and getting this exact same horizontal line tearing issue! it's extremely annoying and only occurs during fullscreen mode!

Any fixes yet?

thanks! :)
