Didn't see it mentioned anywhere (and if it was I'm sorry) and I'm not sure how many people frequent the Beta Site or even read the patch notes, but the Repair NPC's repair cap has been raised. It seems to be about 75% up from 50.

I noticed when I went to get my gear fixed and got the message that one of my pieces of gear increased in durability by a whooping 50% (and it wasn't broken, it was around 30% durability) and that made me go and look for some patch notes where it was confirmed. Repairing gear is one of the bigger issues everyone seems to share so I figured I'd point it out.

Speaking of patch notes, I might as well post them since it's short.

[Affected Services]
FINAL FANTASY XIV

[Important Update Details]
- A issue which prevented players to complete the levequest “Yarz on me” has been addressed.

- An issue that may prevent animations from displaying properly upon increases in class rank / physical level has been addressed.

- An issue which prevented players from changing their equipment after being attacked while synthesizing or gathering has been addressed.

- An issue which caused the text in the chat logs to move up and down has been addressed.

- The cost of certain items sold by NPCs have been adjusted.

- The stats for the bone ring have been adjusted.

- Adjusted the value in which a player would receive the status "second-hand" due to equipment deterioration.

- The amount of durability restored by the NPCs have been increased.

- The display range for the following type of messages have been adjusted.
→ Obtaining experience points and skill points: Only visible to yourself.
→ Obtaining loot: Only visible to you and your party members.

And I'm not sure what "Second-hand" is, but I can only guess that it's talking about the little yellow and red icons you get when your gear decays by a certain %. I'm hoping the adjustment means they slowed down the absurdly fast rate of decay.

I wonder if blacksmith players in the future will just be able to open stalls.. to repair weapons..

They set a repair price per 100 durability and people can come and buy the repair.. That would be awesome.. and make blacksmiths a freaking goldmine class :D

It depends on the price of the mats and how they set it up. I don't expect it to be a major gil generating enterprise. And it would be boring as **** for the blacksmith.

I believe secondhand means it needs repairing sooner. I noticed my armor wore down much faster than before.

OP: great, technically no more yellow icon right?

Does anybody knows what are the new stats on those? I just got 4 for my wife yesterday, I'd hate to know the lost/got-reduced the magic accuracy +3.

There is an Elezen in the middle of one of the market zones, I don't remember the exact location but those markets are at the south of the pub where you ask for the leves.

I still have a icon because my accessories are damaged (rings, earrings, necklace, etc.) and the NPC wont repair those, but if I unequip all but what the NPC can fix my icon goes away.

So yeah, technically no more damaged gear icon outside of accessories.
